Advice I agree vs I don’t ⬇️

I’ve seen this format somewhere and I loved the approach.

There is a lot of advice online, especially on Instagram and I thought I would show you my opinion.

Instagram Growth Advice I Agree With:
➡️ Engagement is as important as good-quality content
- it’s great to have professional content, but it’s not going anywhere without building a community first

➡️ You don’t need to post every day - just be consistent with your content
- consistency DOESN’T mean posting every day. You can get results without overwhelming your audience.

➡️ Consistency in branding is crucial
- your branding, including messaging, should be consistent throughout all content

➡️ Aesthetics does matter - as well as first impressions
- aesthetic is important because it creates a feeling, an emotion. It reminds people what your brand stands for.

➡️ Pinned posts and highlights should be optimised and up-to-date - I still see accounts without pinned posts and I think that’s a missed opportunity!

Instagram Growth Advice I Don’t Agree With:
➡️ Hashtags in comments
- I still see some people not only do this but also recommend it.
- Look, I’m no expert, but hashtags in comments are not recognised by the algorithm. So are you just trying to fill up the space? 😁

➡️ Keywords stacking in plain text
- I’m all here for keywords! Use them in your content!
- But stacking them in plain text under every post, as well as hashtags just doesn’t make sense to me 👀

➡️ Follow for following or following only to immediately unfollow the account - just NO 😂

➡️ Cold DMs without any prior conversion
- I’ve been there - you want to spread your message as much as possible and lean toward cold DMs. That’s not what will get you to your dream clients.
- From my experience, it’s best to start a conversation first and get to know the person 🤩

➡️ Not sharing reels in stories
- I still don’t understand why people are against this. (feel free to explain in the comments)
- I personally mainly go to the user’s account through stories.

1️⃣ Hooks
Hooking your audience from the very beginning is crucial.
Adding a catchy phrase at the beginning of your post will entice your audience to keep reading.
It doesn’t need to be super dramatic all it takes is a play on words.

Every piece of content should provide value for your followers. You should answer one quest with each post:

What is the best number of posts per week on social media?

How do you find out the optimal amount of posts for your strategy?

Here is the gist ⤵️
Every strategy is different.

The frequency of posts highly depends on your objectives, but also is can be affected by time and budget.

So here is what I have discovered from my experience.

Instagram is a very dynamic platform.

A lot can change in a short amount of time.

Content that is fast-paced but also evergreen is welcomed 🤗

I would split the frequency of posting into categories according to your position on social media as a business:
➡️ beginning (new business or starting on Instagram)
➡️ maintaining (already have a good Instagram audience)
➡️ established (you’re using social media only as promotion but don’t need it as much anymore)

Now, that you know your target audience, connecting with them shouldn’t be as difficult.
