Local radio for local people. Ocean City Radio was created with the purpose of contributing to the rebuilding of community life in Plymouth.

It was launched on Friday 5th November 2018 and became a 'community interest company' on 5th March 2020. The service was initially streamed via the internet and then achieved its place on DAB radio in November 2023. Ocean City Radio CIC is operated entirely by volunteers. It has no investors or shareholders and no debt. These factors allow it to operate entirely independently, impartially and with

out political bias. The team comes from all walks of life. Some are experienced media graduates, others are working towards a qualification in radio, but most are inexperienced local people fulfilling a desire to entertain and inform fellow members of the community.
