Park Promotions From its beginnings some twenty years ago, Park Promotions has established itself as one of the leading independent music management & promotion companies

Park Promotions MD, John Dagnell, has been involved in the music industry for over forty years, ever since he started playing drums in the mid-seventies. By 1981 he had discovered that his future lay off stage and had started his first record label, as well as moving into the world of band merchandising. Working with renowned promoter Adrian Hopkins, Dagnell was to tour with the likes of Thin Lizz

y, Genesis and Van Morrison, as well as tour managing Steeleye Span. He also set up the Flutterby Label for Hopkins

Heading out on his own, John was to start his own merchandise and touring operation, before returning to the record business in 1989 with the launch of Park Records. The following year he rekindled his professional relationship with Steeleye’s Maddy Prior with the release of her ‘Happy Families’ album with husband Rick Kemp. From these beginnings, Park Promotions have established themselves as one of the leading independent music management and promotion companies in the UK, having worked with some of the most famous names in British music, including John Cale, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Pentangle and more, not least their on-going association with Steeleye Span. John and his team have a built a company that is capable of dealing with an artist on all levels, from their first steps into the industry to dealing with more complex aspects – be it the media, merchandising, touring or film and video projects. Bringing an attention to detail and a huge amount of personal experience to all projects, Park Promotions offer the perfect solution to any music industry needs.

A very sad day today for the band and all Steeleye Span fans
Our dear friend guitarist,singer and songwriter Bob Johnson has passed away this afternoon.
He had been poorly for a few months now but finally left us in search of the rainbows end.
Bob was a key member of the band during the glory days and responsible for many of the bands big ballads
including Thomas The Rhymer and Long Lankin..and most recently Bob's lost track The Green Man was released with much delight to the world.
Out thoughts and prayers are with Bobs wife Mandy and his family

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
