🌿 We're celebrating a whole year of Chris Skinner's Countryside Podcast this week.

Chris is a passionate wildlife enthusiast and farmer, and the show is an immersive weekly insight into life at in Norfolk. Alongside broadcaster Matthew Gudgin, they explore the farm and surrounding areas whilst Chris talks about the natural world around them.

🌿 We are very excited to be running a session as part of Tremula Festival next month!

A brand new podcast event that celebrates the best of audio storytelling, the great outdoors, nature and inclusive communities.

AUDIO EDITING
A Workshop For Beginners

Saturday 17th February
10am-12pm

A two hour hands-on workshop exploring the basic principles of audio editing using a free to download software called Audacity.

You will:
- Become familiar with the software, and how audio looks when it’s displayed as a waveform
- Learn how to manipulate those waveforms to create what you want to hear, including splitting, trimming, cutting & pasting, crossfading, amplifying and reducing
- Understand the principles of multi-track editing and layering of audio
- Have a go at a creative project that incorporates those learned skills

Led by Sophie Little and Anna Perrott, both seasoned producers/presenters with decades of audio industry experience.

Participants will need to bring their own laptops and download Audacity (free software).

We produce Chris Skinner’s Countryside Podcast and release it every Sunday.

Chris is an extremely knowledgable and passionate wildlife enthusiast and farmer. The show is a gentle and immersive listen, exploring his home - High Ash Farm - nestled in the Norfolk Countryside.

Along with broadcaster Matthew Gudgin he talks about the natural world around him, while his dog Rat gets up to all sorts of mischief.

Chris has been broadcasting on BBC local radio since the 1980s. Recent cuts meant thousands of his loyal listeners were left without a much loved part of their week.

We’ve worked hard to make this podcast accessible to as many of Chris’ listeners as possible, while reaching out for people who haven’t heard him yet.

We run a free CD postal service of the podcast for those without the internet, so if you know someone who would benefit from that, drop us a line.
