Mandatory evacuation orders for the following counties: Charlotte; Citrus; Collier; Hillsborough; Hernando; Lee; Levy; Manatee; Pasco; Pinellas; Sarasota; St John's and Volusia.
Voluntary evacuation orders for the following counties: Glades; Okeechobee; Dixie; Hardee; Miami-Dade and Union.

Tornadoes are still a unknown phenomenon that’s why scientists, known as storm chasers risk their lives every day to launch probes and other vital equipment into these storms, the data gained from these vital pieces of equipment can be used to gather data which could potentially lead to a early warning detection system which could detect a tornado before it even forms giving people VITAL and much needed time to get somewhere safe
As we all know, the damage from these ferocious storms can be absolutely heart wrenching and painful to see, people losing homes, livelihoods and jobs, the injuries and deaths are also something that hurts to see
Some storm chasers have even died in order to protect people from these storms
On May 31, 2013, The Twistex Team, Tim Samaras, his 24-year-old son Paul Samaras, and 45-year-old California native Carl Young died in the record wide EF3 multiple-vortex El Reno tornado.
They were unable to escape along gravel roads as the funnel rapidly expanded to envelop them.
Their Chevrolet Cobalt was caught by a subvortex, and Paul and Carl were ejected from the car.
Tim was buckled in the passenger's seat, and was killed as the car was thrown approximately half a mile by the storm.
