I started life with a hunger to learn creative skills from school age and was fortunate enough to start winning art competitions. Despite a brief career move into travel and tourism, I always knew I would return to artistic work. In 2002 I started my HND in Graphic Design at Hastings College of Art and Technology, qualifying in 2004. All it took was a six week placement for me to get my profession
al start when I was snapped up by photographic agency, Magnet Harlequin. So began an eight year career with three internal promotions which constantly played to my strengths. This experience allowed me to hone my technical skills and develop a practical understanding of the entire workflow process from conception to competition. At Magnet Harlequin roster of high calibre clients include: John Lewis, Links of London, BHS, Fullers, Budweiser, Costa, Tesco, M&S and Streetfighter. In 2013 I took a leap and started Hazel Nelson Retouching, a specialist freelance service for the post production treatment of images. I can help you figure out what is required for your project and advise in the brief. You can expect a friendly, 'no fuss' service regardless of tight deadlines. I can communicate with clients and make provisions in briefs on both ends of the working chain to ensure your project is cost effective during the creative process. With a over a decade of experience and a strong network of contacts in the creative industries I can make recommendations and connect you to the services you need.
