🎚️MIX + MASTERING: ⚡Chagall's album 'Unlocked' is available now! ⚡ (streaming links in bio). I'm really proud of how it sounds. Chagall's tracks are both a total joy and huge challenge to mix, most are over 100 stems and 50% of them are vocals.
This photo was taken last year, near the final mix stage whilst we were figuring out how to balance vocals in the track 'Ridgeline'.
We wanted to achieve two things: vocals to be both organic and synthetic/otherworldly and also for the bass line to hurt your teeth (that was my suggestion, I dialed it back a bit).
Nothing but love for this wonderful artist and human 💓

The Emu SP1200 makes a rare appearance at the studio. The best sampler I ever owned was an Emu ESI32 with 2mb of ram!
It had replaced an Akai S2000 which I hated. I later owned the Yamaha A5000 which was a beast. And then
Ableton replaced hardware sampling in my studio but I'll always love that little Emu.

⚡Learning that pre-studio sun is essential🌞. According to we need the morning sun in our eyes to feel a powerful and positive impact on our wakefulness throughout the day and also to improve our ability to sleep at night.
Especially important to those of us who might spend the rest of the day in a room with no windows.

I bought my first synth for around £350 in 1998 (i think). This lovely Juno 106 featured on almost every one of my tracks for the next 15 years until slowly giving out on me.
Today she's back to her best! ⚡⚡ All six voice chips replaced, new filter and LFO sliders and now just gave her the final clean up.
To be honest the Softube and Roland Cloud versions sound 99% identical but there's still something very special about crafting something on the real thing.
I hope now she'll last long enough to pass on to my kids and that they get to feel the same rush of excitement i did (and still do) while pushing those sliders. 🎚️🎚️⚡⚡

Award winning artist recording voice over for her incredible installation 'Come Home Again' at the ⚡⚡

We spent many hours, over the summer perfecting the delivery of 243 UK species which were then interspersed with the animals sound and choirs singing the Latin names.

It's a monumental and beautiful work and Es was an absolute joy to work with. Not least because she also introduced me to Gary Barlow🙏☺️ ⚡⚡

Currently liking the ports closed. You do lose some headroom, but they are insanely loud and detailed anyway.🔊👏👏
Clients are loving them also.
