📣 BIC Brunch - European Accessibility Act: Back to Basics, the Legalities 📣
Thursday 11th July (12:00 pm - 1:30 pm BST) online

Launching BIC’s brand new 2024/25 series of webinars dedicated to the 2025 European Accessibility Act (EAA), this first session on Thursday 11th July will take us back to the basics with a look at the legalities.

We will look at what the EAA is, it’s purpose, what it encompasses, what is included/not included (formats, ancillary materials, type/size of organisations, platforms, devices, platforms, purchase pages/entering credit card info etc), what needs to be done by whom, and by when.

The session will be hosted by Karina Urquhart, Executive Director, BIC and the speakers are:
Mary Elliot, Management Partner, of Fox Williams LLP, Solicitors and Cristina Mussinelli, Secretary General of the LIA Fondazione.

In the book industry, receiving and managing ever-growing volumes of rich metadata can be a challenge. 📈

BIC's 'Data Recipient Best Practice' project aims to establish best practice to address this. Running until November 2024, the project will agree, document, and promote best practice for the collection and management of product information by the various recipients of that metadata. Recipients of the data will be UK or Island of Ireland based or be active in those markets.
