Applications to all three Netflix-supported Grierson DocLab schemes close this Friday, 12 February at 5pm.

If you’re passionate about documentaries and factual TV, and want to work in the sector, apply for one of our schemes! We’re looking for UK-based people who have the drive to make it in this competitive industry, and who don’t have the connections or networks to thrive on their own.

The Grierson Trust especially welcomes applications from those currently under-represented in the industry, including women; people with a disability; those from BAME backgrounds; people from the LGBTQ+ community; and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. We also encourage candidates from geographical areas across the UK that do not have many opportunities in the screen industries to apply.

- 🎞 Grierson DocLab In Focus: Editing is for people aged 18+ who can edit on Avid but want to hone their storytelling skills and step up to be an Edit Assistant. We also accept Premiere Pro proficiency, but the training will be run on Avid. 8 successful trainees will get week-long training, a PAID contract working on a Netflix doc production (lasting up to 3 months), and industry mentor and more.

- 📋 Grierson DocLab In Focus: Production Management is for those aged 18+ who have at least one year’s experience in an office-based admin role (in ANY sector, not just TV) and have the transferable skills to work in production management (really organised, multi-tasker, great communicator and creative problem-solver). 8 successful trainees will get week-long training, a PAID contract working on a Netflix doc production (lasting up to 3 months), and industry mentor and more.

- 🎥 The Grierson DocLab core scheme is for 18-25 year olds who are new entrants to the sector. If you have more than 3 month’s experience in factual TV, then you are not eligible. We’re looking for people who are passionate about factual and want to gain the experience and networks to take their first steps into the industry. 15 successful trainees will get week-long training, a trip to Sheffield Doc/Fest, camera and editing training, an industry mentor and a bursary-supported work placement at a UK production company.
