CONGO NATTY - FOUNDATION MUSIC SPECIAL

It was such a pleasure to welcome on to the show for the return of the Foundation Music Special interview series…

An MC, producer, singer, music maker that I have been listening to since his early days as part of Double Trouble and then as Rebel MC. I particularly remember loving his “Rich A Getting Richer” track from Malcolm Mclaren’s TV Musical “The Ghosts of Oxford Street” back in 1991.

It was an early encounter with the reggae break beat fusions that he settled on which soon turned in to a sound called “Jungle”. A sound which he is credited by MC Navigator as naming… He then became Congo Natty and made a slew of amazing records which he is still doing to this day

In the show we play inspirational tunes, chat about the new Jungle sound that is coming through, about the scenes roots plus mention a few unsung heroes including and his MC Yush and of course the new album “Ancestorz (Roots Of Jungle)” which is a brilliant and deep record.

Full of Junglist rhythms but so much more… Nyabinghi drums, rasta chants, its a deep record tapping in to the roots of Reggae the first wave of Jungle as Congo sees it…

Dive in its a great chat and the music is next level
