Delving into the idea behind the venue, Joanne explained, “The hotel boasts a rich history. Our hashtag sums it up; we are a one of a kind, family-owned rather than brand-owned, and that gives us the freedom to do things differently and more scope to treat people as individuals.”

Speaking on the private residences, Joanne commented, “We have 18 residences, including 9 sets of interconnecting apartments. The apartments are particularly popular with long stay guests, people on holiday, and those who appreciate the space and light that these airy apartments provide.”

Industry Interview: Five Quickfire Questions with Natasha Hargan of Nobu London Shoreditch

In 2023, Natasha Hargan joined Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch as General Manager! We can’t wait for you to get to know her! Hargan, has an impressive 15 years’ experience in hospitality, and is responsible for the ongoing success of the hotel. She joined the Nobu family from her previous role as GM at St Martins Lane London where she managed a 180-strong team.

1. When did you realise you wanted to get into the hotel industry?

The hotel world was a wonderful accident for me, it was never in my plan but became an obsession that I couldn’t give up.



2. What are your pet peeves when staying at other hotels?

Connecting through service is key so I am disappointed if this doesn’t happen.



3. What’s your dream hotel breakfast?

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, any variation on eggs usually keeps me very happy.



4. Are there any key travel trends you’re loving at the moment?

I love how sustainable travel is becoming the expectation rather than the exception



5. What’s your favourite city to visit and where do you stay?

New York is my go to and I last stayed at Edition, can’t wait until we have a Nobu Hotel there next year

Gareth and Jimmy started The Heretics as a project to champion English wine. Their first grapes have come from Essex, specifically the Crouch Valley, which is being heralded as the future for English still wine with ripeness levels higher than any other county in the UK. They will always work with the best growers and their focus will never stray from the top end of the quality spectrum.
It’s just the two of them in the business, and they have no ambitions to be huge and no desire to be mainstream, quite the opposite actually. It’s about quality, it’s about style and, dare we say it, it’s about passion too.
