We have been wearing keffiyehs for many years. They are the only remaining factory in there is a bit of a waiting list for them but we are very happy to receive this one today in the colours of the flag of Palestine. We will be proud to wear in in solidarity with the oppressed people of and particularly in solidarity with the journalists who have died and those who continue to work to bring words and pictures to us so that we cannot ignore the suffering. 🇵🇸🍉

We have just watched the video this still if from. A man carrying a dead child with a face but the rest of their head is gone. A line was crossed by Israel a long time ago but this is just horrific. Heartbreaking to see. There’s no words you can say to capture the horror of videos like this. There is no justification in the world anyone can give for the targeting and killing of children and civilians in this way. Nothing… Nothing justifies this. There is no other word than evil. No-one will ever forgive those who did this. When will world leaders put a stop to this? 😳

Jeremy Corbyn offers to shake the hand of the defeated Labour Party candidate after Jeremy standing as an Independent candidate was re-elected to serve his constituents in Islington North as he has since 1983.

We have covered the General Election campaigning in Islington North in the run up to the election and focused on Jeremy’s campaign as the Local Labour Party didn’t respond to our multiple requests to contact us. We wonder the logic of imposing a candidate in an area that has someone so committed to serving their local community as Jeremy Corbyn.

Jeremy Corbyn re-elected to serve his constituents in Islington North as he has since 1983. It was an exciting night at the Islington Tennis Centre where the count was held.

We have covered the campaigning in Islington North in the run up to the election and have focused on Jeremy’s campaign as the Local Labour Party didn’t respond to our multiple requests to cover their campaign. We wonder the logic of imposing a candidate in an area that has someone so committed to serving their local community as Jeremy Corbyn.

We went to the rallies organised by the students at the SOAS and UCL pro-Palestine camps today. We were impressed by their passion, the sense of community, and their determination to raise awareness of the plight of those in 🇵🇸

Fundraising for media safety training and equipment.

Equinox Features’ freelance photojournalist & video journalist has disabilities which make their photo and video journalism work challenging these days. Editing pictures and video can take a while and this is why often social media channels aren’t updated quickly.

The media industry is also now in such a state that freelances barely earn enough to pay the bills let alone self-fund work and the costs of newsgathering.

It is important try to keep learning and gaining skills to help push health boundaries and gain essential work and safety related skills help freelances safely cover events.

Our photo / video journalist has been offered a place on a HET Hostile Environment Training course which the provider has kindly discounted to try and help, and we have saved towards the cost of the 4 day course but are still not close to the covering the cost.

It covers theory and practice relation to working safety in high risk environments and practical first aid and medical skills. It is an essential course for anyone who’s work may take them to countries or areas that are high risk and these skills are useful in many environments.

Often freelancers don’t get this training because it’s usually more expensive and they work without the benefit of this safety and medical knowledge.

This course would teach helpful skills, and push to do something challenging. Without support we can’t raise the funding. If anyone would like to help out it would be really helpful, although we understand there are many more important causes needing support at the moment.
