Keynote speakers Cherie Blair and John Deery will discuss their upcoming feature film ‘The Rock Pile’ at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival on the 31st May!

In their speech they will be talking about the role of women in film, gender equality and ‘The Rock Pile’, which is set in present-day Jerusalem and follows a female war correspondent as she uncovers a compelling story of redemption, reconciliation and hope.

Cherie Blair will be discussing the role of women in film in regard to ‘The Rock Pile’, a film which will be produced by Alexandra Milchan (‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’) and directed by John Deery (‘Conspiracy of Silence’) later this year.

Inspired by true events and set in present-day Jerusalem, 'The Rock Pile' will tell the story of three boys of different faiths who, feeling trapped by the on-going conflict in Israel, take out their frustrations by throwing rocks at each other from atop mounds of rubble in the Old City. The film will follow a disillusioned war correspondent, Erin Carter, as she uncovers a compelling story of redemption, reconciliation and hope amidst the boys’ fights, football matches and blossoming friendship.

Cherie Blair and John Deery will talk about the film further on the 31st May at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival!

We’re happy to announce that our wonderful Executive Producer Cherie Blair QC is joining director John Deery at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival at the end of May to discuss the upcoming feature film ‘The Rock Pile’.

The film, set in present-day Jerusalem, looks at the Middle East conflict through the unique perspective of three boys from different faiths with a shared passion for football.

‘The Rock Pile’ was written by W. David McBrayer ('Beat the Drum') with Alexandra Milchan ('The Wolf of Wall Street') producing. We can’t wait to share more details with you soon!

Alexandra Milchan joins ‘The Rock Pile’ as Producer alongside, Executive Producer Cherie Blair CBE. Over the past 20 years, she has served as a film executive and an independent producer of film, television and digital projects.

Milchan's credits include AMC’s 'The Terror: Infamy' and 'The Terror', 'The Wolf of Wall Street', and 'The 24th', co-written and directed by Oscar-winner Kevin Willmott ('Blackkklansman'). Alexandra also Executive Produced Starz' 'Seduced: Inside The NXIVM Cult'. Upcoming features include Netflix's 'Intrusion' starring Freida Pinto and Logan Marshall-Green and 'Keyhole Garden' starring Zoe Saldana and Garrett Hedlund. Previously, Alexandra served as the EVP of Production at New Regency, bringing in and developing major properties such as 'Assassin’s Creed' and 'Fraggle Rock'.

Directed by John Deery ('Conspiracy of Silence') and written by David McBrayer ('Beat the Drum'), ‘The Rock Pile’ will be produced by Deery for Joejack Entertainment, McBrayer for Z Productions LLC and Co-Produced by Haim Mecklberg for 2-Team Productions('Sand Storm') in Jerusalem.

The film tells the story of complicated and disillusioned TIME Magazine war correspondent, Erin Carter, who finds redemption and a story of reconciliation in the fights, football, and friendship of three boys of different faiths in present-day Jerusalem.
