Rod Webber Arrested For Vandalizing NY Gallery Of Hunter Biden

Rod Webber, the man who had vandalized the New York gallery of Hunter Biden on Friday, has been arrested. On Friday afternoon, Webber entered Georges Berges Gallery that represents President Joe Biden’s son. With a can of pink spray paint (which he later claimed to be just washable hair spray), he wrote the word “daddy” on a wall before he was taken down. In the ensuing struggle, he also damaged a painting estimated to be worth $14,500. He was taken down by an unidentified civilian.

The Ford Foundation and Mellon Foundation have joined hands with U.S. Latinx Art Forum (USLAF) to shed light on the Latinx artists in the USA. Together, the organizations have created the Latinx Artist Fellowship. The fellowship will continue for the next five years, selecting 15 artists each year. A total fund of $5 million has been allocated for the fellowship, courtesy of the two philanthropic organizations.

A report by Prado Museum confirmed just how much museums have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Monday, the Museo Nacional del Prado (commonly known as Prado Museum) reported that it witnessed a drop of 75.5 percent in its revenues in 2020. The Switzerland-based Kunsthalle Bern museum has appointed Kabelo Malatsie as its next director. She will be the first non-European to don this position. Kabelo Malatsie is a prominent curator based in Johannesburg. She is considered one of the most influential people in South Africa’s art world from the last decade. From 2011-2016, she served as the director of Stevenson Gallery.

NYC Authorities Approve Removal Of Teddy Roosevelt Statue

A New York City Commission has unanimously voted to remove the Natural History Museum’s statue of Theodore Roosevelt from the premises. The American Museum of Natural History first announced its intention to remove the statue last year.
