Latest upgrade ready to go. Goodbye trusty Tascam 38, hello more trustierer (😉) Tascam 58. Recently purchased from the good folks at and with a full MOT by the wonderful (who i highly recommend by the way).
Any serious tape head would laugh at the suggestion that a 40 year old, half inch, tascam 8 track could be described as the Rolls Royce of anything and yet as far as tascam half inch 8 tracks go, this 58 really is the best machine they made. A sexy beast. Come have a play!

An early 1970’s Glensound MX6 broadcast mixer is the main front end of our recording system. Sporting 6 high quality mic/line preamps it serves as an excellent tool for both tracking and mixing while being sonically compared to the likes of Neve and API designs.
Loads of preamp gain, inductive equalisers, a built in mix bus compressor and of course, backwards faders....what’s not to like...

Here we see the lesser spotted north American engineer in their favoured habitat. Not normally indigenous to the UK some do still migrate here permanently. At this point of the season they have already shed their scruffy winter coat and have adopted a shorter spring plumage. Known to mainly subsist on store bought cheese and onion sandwiches, and imported lager, they have also been known to construct delicious pitta bread and cheese, with mustard and cucumber sandwiches. This specimen, though fully grown, is just reaching his prime as evidenced by this elaborate courtship display involving expensive outboard compressors and vintage preamps.
