This weekend sees the much anticipated release of Ridley Scott's American biographical crime drama, House of Gucci. Underpinned by themes of wealth, power, greed, and betrayal the film is inspired by the sensationally shocking and unbelievable true story of the family behind the infamous Italian fashion empire. With a star-studded cast, extravagant fashion, power suits and high drama from the offset, this is a must see.

CODEX were invited to ARRI's Open House event earlier this month, which provided a great opportunity to showcase their incredible mixed-reality ‘Orbiter’ lighting rig.

This was a great event, well organised and attended. It was such a pleasure to catch up with our industry friends and colleagues and demonstrate the new Transfer Drive Dock and Drive, along with our shared storage solution, MediaVault. The Transfer Drive offers unparalleled read & write speeds and coupled with the MediaVault you are able to process big camera RAW shoots, with a relatively small footprint of kit.

Thank you to ARRI and those who attended.

Next week sees the highly anticipated release of Dune. From director Denis Villeneuve, with cinematography by Greig Fraser, ACS, ASC, and this is one not to be missed.

Dune depicts the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence, only those who can conquer their own fear will survive.

Critically acclaimed Disney+'s The Mandalorian, received a record 24 nominations for this year's 73rd Emmy Awards.

At the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony last week, honouring technical and artistic achievements such as Cinematography, Matthew Jensen ASC won for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour).

We are incredibly proud to have played a role in creating such a highly-regarded series and look forward to the Primetime awards ceremony this Sunday 19th September.
