INCOMING 💥 New York City Disco t-shirts. Inspired by a recent walking tour of New York City, taking in the lost but not forgotten iconic disco clubs from the 1970s and 80s. The graphic on the reverse of the t-shirt maps the locations of 13 venues from the golden age of disco including The Loft, Paradise Garage and Studio 54.

TONIGHT ⚡️🪩 ⚡️ It’s the private view of our new studio show Disconnections - The Graphic Art of Disco starting at 5pm followed by a disco inspired DJ set at .cafe from 7pm.

Featuring illustrations by New York artist James McMullan who illustrated the 1976 New York magazine article ‘Inside the Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night’ which went on to inspire the film ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and also featuring over 90 original record covers from labels like Casablanca, Megatone, T.K. Disco, Philadelphia International Prelude, Salsoul, Solar, West End, Unidisc and ZYX celebrating the artwork of Greg Porto and other unsung music industry creatives.

There’s no place like home 💛💛💛 First look at our new Scene Here Liverpool print which maps the connections between the venues, bands and individuals at the heart of music scenes in our home city and its surrounds from the 1950’s to the present day.

We’ve been working on this mapping project with the customers of Rough Trade Liverpool for the last 6 months. They’ve been scribbling contributions on a wonderwall in the store which we have been adding to the artwork. We’ve also been talking to music insiders and fonts of all merseyside knowledge…way too many to tag individually in one post but thanks to everyone for being so generous with their time ❤️❤️❤️

This is the first edition of the print. It has been one of the most complex mapping projects we have worked on (and if you know us you’ll know we’ve worked on a few). There are over 500 clubs, bands, musicians, festivals, record stores and record labels on the print…if you think we’ve missed something off you can still contribute in-store.

This print is now available to buy from our online store (link in profile) or exclusively from the Rough Trade Liverpool store on Hanover Street.
