Meet Chiwetaluagu

Chiwetalu Agu who was born in the year 1956 is a Nigerian actor.

He won the 2012 Nollywood award for 'best actor in indigenous movie (non-English speaking language)'. His usage of specific language slangs, phrases or clichés in many films has made him uniquely a household name in Nigeria and among Nollywood fans in general. While asserting that comic genres is a unique vehicle in projecting Nigerian culture globally as well as establishing the Nollywood brand, Agu is listed as one of the outstanding comedians who have contributed to the development of Nollywood comic genres by Prof. Femi Shaka of the University of Port Harcourt.

Agu's versatility dates back to the transition of Nigerian television soap operas to Nollywood movies. Before the inception of Nollywood, about 31 years ago, television soap opera was the order of the day and Agu featured in Nigerian Television Authority Channel 8 Enugu's Ikoro, produced by Joe Onyekwelu. He also featured in ETV Channel 50, now ESBS. in soaps like Baby Come Now and Ripples (in Lagos), produced by Chico Ejiro's brother, Zeb; in the latter he played the character of Chief Abunna.

Agu is married to Nkechi and has three sons and two daughters.

Meet Kanayo O Kanayo

Anayo Modestus Onyekwere MFR popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo who was born on the 1st of March 1962 is a Nigerian actor and lawyer.

In 2006, he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the movie "Family Battle".

Kanayo started his acting career in 1982, acting in productions by the national broadcaster, the Nigerian Television Authority. He made his debut movie appearance in the year 1992 in the film "Living in Bo***ge". He has starred in over 100 films and was nominated in 2008 for Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie "Across the Niger". His most recent movies are "Up North and Living in Bo***ge: Breaking Free".

He has featured in multiple Nollywood productions including Lion Heart and the sitcom Professor Johnbull, however, he is known for playing the role of a Villain in these productions especially in films relating to occultic practices.

Kanayo was among various Nigerians honored by the government in 2014 during the centenary celebration.

Meet Genevieve Nnaji Official.

Genevieve Nnaji, born on 3rd of May 1979 is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director.

She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actor to win the award. In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contributions to Nollywood. Her directorial debut movie, "Lionheart", is the first Netflix film from Nigeria and the first Nigerian submission for the Oscars. The movie was disqualified for having most of its dialogue in English.

Nnaji started her acting career as a child actor in the then-popular television soap opera Ripples at the age of 8. In 1998, at the age of 19, she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie Most Wanted. Her subsequent movies include Last Party, Mark of the Beast and Ijele. In 2010, she starred in the award-winning film Ijé: The Journey. She has starred in over 200 Nollywood movies.

In 2004, Nnaji signed a recording contract with EKB Records; a Ghanaian record label, and released her debut album One Logologo Line.It is a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop and Urban music. In 2004, Genevieve Nnaji was with the most votes after contending with other celebrities for the search for the face of Lux in 2004.

After having spent decades in the movie industry, she was profiled alongside some celebrities and business executives in 2020 in two new books by publisher and Editor in Chief of Yes International! magazine, Azuh Arinze.

Meet Funke Akindele

Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele who was born on August 24th 1977, popularly known as Jenifa, is a Nigerian filmmaker, actress, director, producer and politician.

Funke Akindele starred in the sitcom "Need to Know" from 1998 to 2002 and in 2009, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. for her role in Jenifa, which brought her into fame.

Funke reprised the role in a 2015 television series adaption titled Jenifa's Diary, for which she was named the Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 and 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She won the same award in 2020 and 2022, making it her fifth win for the Best Actress in a Comedy category. Akindele is the most nominated actress/filmmaker at the AMVCA and currently owns six wins which makes her the actress with most wins.

She is the second director to gross over a billion naira at the Nigeria box office and currently the Highest grossing Nigerian Director in Nigerian Box Office with a total Gross of over ₦2.9 billion.

Meet Frederick Leonard

Frederick Nnaemeka Leonard who was born on May 1st, 1976 is a Nigerian actor who won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a movie at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards in 2014 and in 2016 won the City People Movie Award For Best Supporting Actor of the Year (English) at the City People Entertainment Awards.

Leonard debuted his career into the Nigerian movie industry in 2001 where he played brief one scene roles and took a break from acting almost immediately after he debuted in order to complete his university education and obtain a degree. Upon completion of his university education, Leonard returned to the Nigerian movie industry referred to commonly as Nollywood in 2008 and obtained his first ever lead role in a movie titled Indian Doctor. In 2009, he ventured into the Nigerian TV soap opera series and featured in a TV series titled Disclosure which aired predominantly on Africa Magic on DSTV.

He debuted his career with a movie titled Grey and subsequently in 2019 produced a movie titled Void.

Meet Patience Ozokwor

Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G was born on 14th of September 1958. She's a renowned Nigerian Nollywood actress, a television personality, fashion designer, and a musician.

She was an announcer and broadcaster on Radio Nigeria before she became an actress. She rose to fame from her role in the 1999 movie Authority and her first TV drama won a soap opera titled "Someone Cares" on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Since her rise to fame, she proceeded to act in over 100 movies.

Mama G won the best supporting actress 2012 and 2013 award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

She is known for taking the role of a wicked woman in some of her movies. Patience Ozokwor was among the top 100 Nigerians Honored by the government to celebrate the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates in 2014.

On May 20, 2023, she was named the Merit Award Winner at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards.
