We will let her introduce herself! “I Have always seen myself as a mixed media artist as I try not to limit my practice to a certain kind of medium which gives me the freedom to explore new processes and concepts. The predominant themes I tend to work with are nostalgia, the role of the audience within the culture of art and how humour within art is a vital component to connectivity and creating important conversations.”

“Quarantine has been an interesting time for my art practise, it has definitely felt like a rollercoaster. At first I felt I was hurtling forward in one direction, which soon became exhausted and led me to stop making art entirely for a period of time. Then I picked up a coloured pencil for the first time in many years, and art felt new and exciting again. I now have a whole new energy with the pieces I'm making, although I know not to feel to settled as I'm sure my direction will once again make a new turn. Whatever happens I'm interested to see how my practise and evolves in this unsettling time as I'm sure many other artists are. I think for those who have been given the time to make art should not put pressure on themselves to churn out amazing work, but simply try and do what brings you some sense of peace right now.'”

Hello, I'm Isabella Cuttill an illustrator from London. I graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2017; where I studied Graphic Design specialising in Illustration, and I now work full time as a Senior Studio Assistant for another artist, as well as making my own work in my spare time.

From a young girl I've always had an obsession with drawing, and this desire it still what drives me today. I find it hard to describe exactly what my style is, as it is continuously evolving, which is at times both exciting and frustrating. The one thing that always drives me is my fascination with mark making and creating things with my own two hands. I like my art to tell a story, even a drawing of a biscuit can tell a whole story in my eyes.

For this weeks feature we have the folks at () We will let them introduce themselves.

We’re two mates who had been banging on about making some work together for a while and it wasn’t until the lockdown started that we had the chance to take a step back from our usual lives and take a proper crack at it. We started with the simple intention to use whatever materials or images we had to hand and develop a catalogue of work that we could put together in a small magazine and sell for whatever people could afford to pay, with all the profits being forwarded on to NHS Charities Together. Having finished that project we now want to take BIKINI STATE further by getting more artists on board with the issues to follow. Each of which will follow a different theme which we will be announcing very soon.
