We are delighted to report that we have funding to run more free Animation Academies, this time in Newhaven at Meeching Hall, from this September!! **FREE summer holidays clay animation, cookery and play workshops for children age 7 -14 years old in Newhaven and Eastbourne.**

Have you ever wanted to make your own Lego or clay animation film? Think Wallace and Gromit!

We teach children how to produce clay models, operate digital cameras and animation software on laptops. At the end of the day we will have a screening premiere with parents and siblings and children are sent their films to keep and share.

Cooking activity - making healthy fizzy drinks using fresh fruits
After lunch we will head outside for some games and a play in the park!

Eat Fresh will provide a delicious hot, yummy lunch each day. Allergies, intolerances and special diets can be catered for on request (vegetarian/ gluten/ dairy free options provided).

**FREE Easter holidays clay animation, cookery and play workshops for children age 7 -14 years old in Newhaven and Eastbourne.**

Did you work at Parker Pens in Newhaven before its closure in 2009?

Press Play Films is working with ex employees, the Newhaven Museum and local schools on an oral history and animation project about the old factory. We would like to hear more about what factory life was like! We would really like to speak to ex-factory employees and appreciate you getting in touch. About the workshops:
At these winter themed animation workshops we will encourage children to produce animations celebrating the natural world of winter. Once we have gathered resources, children will design their animations using the broad theme; 'celebration in winter'. Children will use clay modelling and lighting to enhance their film sets and natural world sounds in the final films.

As part of the experience we will hold a screening of the films with parents and siblings and children are also sent their films as MP4s to share.

In addition to the animation aspect of the workshops, Nutritionist Lucie Simon from Eat Fresh and Feel Good be cooking with the children, making healthy fruit pies to take home. Lucie will also provide a nutritious and delicious lunch each day.

IMPORTANT!! We have additional SEND Support on 19th and 20th Dec, so please make sure to book on these dates if your child has additional learning requirements.

Press Play Films now offers stop motion animation parties for ages 7 to 13. Children learn to make their own Lego or clay animations and then we watch them with parents! We cover the whole of East and West Sussex and parts of London.

Free of charge stop motion animation workshops for ages 7 to 14 this summer holidays in Newhaven and Eastbourne, funded by ESC!!

**Children will produce animation puppets and then make their own films to keep.**

Then, after a nutritious lunch provided by chef Lucie Simon from Eat Fresh and Feel Good children will bake some healthy recipe biscuits to take home.

We also have some time outside time planned playing football and some games !

Workshops are free of charge to families who in receipt of free school meals or meet a range of criteria including: children with special educational needs, home educated children, families living in economically deprived areas of East Sussex and children with disabled siblings. This is sculptor Christine Kowal Post, for whom I am producing a portfolio film at the moment.

I can shoot, produce and edit which keeps costs affordable and am now offering this service ( while my workshops are largely on hold due to Covid). I can also add animation to your film if it fits!

Opening up animation across East Sussex

Opening up animation production to children right across East Sussex this summer was brilliant. We worked with so many and varied children and 94% of them were keen to continue animating after our workshops. We worked with the East Sussex Library Service on the project and Arts Council England made it possible. This video gives you a taste of what we got up to.
