Another delivery day!

A bit quiet these last few weeks but can assure you that we’re still hard at work and still throwing everything we have at this place for you guys and girls.

This month we’ve seen some new desks, all new Iron Cobra 600s and some exciting behind the scenes talks which will transform Tweeters to a whole other level.

Pleasure supporting our patrons Fire & Rain & American Pie at their Esher Theatre show this evening putting on an incredible show of hits from some of greatest songwriters of the 60s and 70s. I’ve not seen the venue so full!

Online Booking Changes

With the addition of the new Laney gear there’ll be a slight change to the online booking process from May 1st as we integrate it all onto the system.

Extras will now be itemised showing you the specific models in stock. This will allow us to prevent any over-booking of equipment.

Price Hire Cap will no longer be offered as it prevents us from managing stock. Any bookings made prior to May 1st will retain their Price Hire Cap offer.

We’re Hiring!

As we say farewell to Craig and wish him all the best with his next endeavour, we’re looking for a new friendly face to join team Tweeters.

We’re after a dynamic individual to hold fort a few times a week predominantly on evenings. Duties include the preparing and packing down of rooms, processing bookings/payment and general customer service.

Good timekeeping is essential and for that we’d prefer someone with their own vehicle and not at the mercy of public transport.

It’s been a goal of ours since taking over some months back to provide you all with the best gear we can get our hands on. Today, we’re very happy to have received a whole collection of Laney amps and cabs to replace the existing hire gear.

Laney are an iconic brand with which I’m sure many of you are familiar. A British company designing and engineering their products on our little rock in the ocean; something we’re big on supporting here at Tweeters.

We hope you all love the sound quality and aesthetic of this collection as much as we do, hopefully it’ll enhance your experience with us over at Tweeters.

We’re now stocking ACS hearing protection.

We certainly don’t need to stress the importance of hearing protection to any of you; five minutes spent within a few metres of a crashing cymbal or a booming bass amp will have taught you those lessons long ago. We will however stress the quality of these products as a great low cost solution for those who are fed up of luminous foam buds but can’t afford the more, high-end moulded plugs.

We’re looking to do a lot more work on hearing protection with some exciting in-house services for you all in the near future.

Please take a moment to read through our revised Terms & Conditions due to come into affect as of February 1st.

Key changes - restructured cancellation process to address recurring Block Booking cancellations. Block Bookings will now require 5 days notice or a 50% session fee will be payable, if less than 72 hours notice is given then 100% will be payable.

Single bookings have had their notice reduced to 48 hours from 72 hours or 100% session fee to be payable.

We will also be monitoring block bookings ensuring they’re being utilised properly and removing them if we deem them to have dropped below a reasonable rate of attendance. This is to ensure we can support those who need the regularity of rehearsals as they’re under high demand.

Happy Xmas all. We hope you have had a great holiday period so far. Just to let you all know should you be itching to get back to playing that we will be open from 6pm today until 6 pm on New Year’s Eve.

You wanted more lighting in the studios, you’re getting it! Laurence is busy putting up new lighting tracks in Room 3. 30 LED spots should make things way brighter for you all. This will also be rolled out across the other rooms.

We’re incredibly humbled to be taking the reigns from Nigel and naming ourselves the new owners of Tweeters Studios.

Having both been coming to Tweeters for many years, we know only too well the importance and the value that the place holds for many musicians in the area such as yourselves.

We also know that for many - ourselves included- that it’s impossible to think of Tweeters without thinking of Nigel. He’s been the face of Tweeters for almost 15 years and his ever-charming, endearing presence will be one difficult to replace. They’re qualities that have very much imparted themselves into Tweeters itself.

Going forward - we want to Tweeters to remain Tweeters. It’s of the upmost importance that we continue to keep Tweeters as the accessible, friendly space that it is, supporting musicians both locally (and not so locally) in their love music.

With this, there are some exciting additions and changes being planned that are solely focused at nurturing this culture, aimed entirely on heightening your experience at Tweeters.

It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know some of you over the last couple of weeks and we’re incredibly grateful to inherit such a friendly, respectful group of customers who are equally passionate and loyal to Tweeters as we are.

I will be off on another motorcycle trip later this month. The studios will be closed Friday 15th, Saturday 16th, Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd .From the 13th until the 26th of September the studios will be open evenings Monday to Thursday and all day Sunday. They will not be open Monday to Thursday mornings or afternoons.

I'm sure that many of you will have noticed the lack of confirmation and reminder emails. I'm sorry about that but it is now solved after a couple of weeks of head scratching. Hopefully normality has been restored.

Hi All. I'm certain that you are all as tired of reading this as I am of writing it.

I'm am getting through a distressing amount of mic stands, music stands, and drum thrones at the moment and all due to massive over tightening. Last evening it took two of us to undo a throne, one to hold it down and one to use significant effort with mole grips to undo the screws.

Tightening things to that extent is not necessary and I'm sorry to say that the recent price increases were needed to cover my escalating costs and did not take account of the wanton abuse or destruction of supplied equipment.

Please drummers use a modicum of sense when tightening wing nuts etc on drum kits. Thanks, Nigel

I have managed to keep the studio prices down so far this year but unfortunately a price rise is now unavoidable . I will be increasing session prices from July the 1st.

The increase will be as modest as I can manage and shouldn't be more that £1 per person dependent on the number of people in a band. I appreciate that times are harder for everyone at the moment but I'm afraid that I can't absorb any further cost increases.

Dorking Westival is this weekend. Three days with some great bands and all proceeds go to charity. Treat yourself to an evening out in three Different pubs in West street and catch a few bands live. Hello everyone. I'm sorry for the the total lack of communication over the last couple of weeks. However after a rather grim 17 days of covid I have now tested negative and I'm back at the studios. I sincerely hope to not have a repeat experience.

Day 10. That positive took 35 seconds. I had hoped to feel better by now not worse. This is definitely not a sniffle. I cant recall the last time I felt this unwell.

I am hugely grateful to Lee who has singlehanded kept the studios open this week. He will be getting quite tired by now so please show some tolerance.

I will need to consider how long we can continue like this if I don’t show improvement soon.
