St. Mary Magdalene Church, Stretton Sugwas, Herefordshire.

Had a nice little wander around the grounds and Churchyard. Beautiful piece of architecture and set in a lovely spot with open views.
Sadly the church was locked so I couldn't get a look inside.
The tower is of Norman origins from the original church that was built around 1100 and at a different location.

Here's some info:

'If you head out of Hereford on the A438 towards Hay-on-Wye and Brecon as you pass through Swainshill glance over to you right and you will catch site of one of the most picturesque churches in Herefordshire. The black and white tower of St Mary Magdalene rises above the East Gable surrounded by the lush greenery of churchyard and fields.'

'The Church of St Mary Magdalene is an Anglican church in the village of Stretton Sugwas, in Herefordshire, England. The church is in the Burghill Benefice. The building, dating from the late 19th century, incorporates features from the earlier 12th-century church. It is Grade II* listed. Wikipedia

A trip out today in the lovely sunshine to Bishops Castle. First time visiting and although not much in the town the architecture, colours and patterns of the buildings is amazing. I love that they are still embracing the elephant connection in the town. 🐘

Queenswood.
Beautiful Redwood trees, great views of hills at the viewpoint, a strong silent bear, a Robin that practically shared my seat and the signs of new life for Spring.
Was worth getting out in the sub zero cold to enjoy the walk.

NT Berrington Hall
Blue skies and sunshine this afternoon. Perfect for a walk Autumn is around the grounds and Parkland. The colours are turning to gold in many shades.

St. Mary the Evangelist Church, Shobdon.
Called in to have a wander in and around the church. Beautiful inside, lovely stained glass. Despite a grey day still a lovely walk with Autumn colours around.
Worth a visit.

Trip to Shobdon Aerodrome today on a grey day. Not lucky to see any flying at all but still a nice visit. Coffee and wrap in the Hotspur Cafe added to the trip.
