From October 25-26, 2024, dating app Tinder will open a free pop-up nail bar called Nailing Dating in London. 💅

Nail Dating will offer gel manicures and nail art alongside workshops aimed at empowering singles on their dating journeys. 🩷

The initiative is part of a collaboration with NO MORE, a non-profit organisation focused on ending domestic and sexual violence. 🙅

This week's been all about putting on a show! Team PB has been busy in Manchester and London.

1. The team were ready for a busy on Sunday and Monday.

2. Eve caught up with loads of industry friends at the show including Paula from The Hart Spa Sevenoaks and Gemma from Lily's Beauty Salon

3. Ellen and Erin met the legend that is Glamourgranann after she helped judge the makeup competitions at the show

4. The four live stages were packed with incredible speakers including William Foley Medical Aesthetician

5. Kezia was holding the fort back in London while PB North was on, but we brought her back a gift from Hypo21 and she also got to unpack some exciting new launches from Sothys UK and NKD Waxing

6. Back in London, Ellen visited The REAL Clinic for a Sciton Lasers UK & Ireland broadband laser (BBL) treatment with senior nursing consultant and laser expert Elaine Singer

The new Tipping Act has introduced three significant changes for your salon team:

1️⃣ 100% of qualifying tips or service charges left by customers must be paid directly to employees. Employers cannot deduct any charges for admin or transactions.

2️⃣ The allocation of tips must be transparent and fair, with a clear written policy provided to employees.

3️⃣ Employers must withhold and pay taxes (PAYE and Employer and Employee National Insurance) on all tips received.

The opening day of Professional Beauty North saw the industry crowd to Manchester Central for a packed agenda of trends, launches, education and networking. More than 200 brands were on the show floor, giving visitors a first look at the latest devices and products and offering deals that are only accessible during the two days of the show.There have been more live demonstrations than ever, with many exhibitors creating dedicated workshop spaces on their stands. Beauty and aesthetics professionals are calling on the Government to accelerate plans for industry regulation after the tragic death of a British woman following a non-surgical Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedure.

Alice Webb, a mother of five, died following complications from a "liquid Brazilian butt lift". Her death marks the first fatality caused by this treatment being performed in a UK clinic.

Health Club and Day Spa has announced its redevelopment plans for its new luxury day spa, set for early 2025.

The refurb will include a new swimming pool complemented by a vitality pool, whirlpool bath, heated loungers, a stone bath sauna, herbal sauna, steam room, snow sky shower and foot spas. There will also be a sauna that offers a combination of far infrared saunas and halotherapy.

After the refurb, the spa will have nine treatment rooms, including a mud serail room and a dedicated manicure and pedicure room.
