🎶✨ Behind the Music: Phoenix Stroke Club Choir 🎶✨

We're excited to share some behind the scenes of The Phoenix Stroke Club Choir as they record their heartfelt song, "At the Stroke Club."

Inspirational members of the Onwards and Upwards Group have written and recorded their own song about life at the club. 🎶🎶🎶
The song was written by volunteer Mark Davies and the moving words by stroke survivor Daryl Gayler which captures their experiences and camaraderie.
In May a small group of musicians came together to record the backing track, including Raul D’Oliveira and Paul Riseley who were both professional musicians and now members of the club following their strokes. Over the following weeks the Onwards and Upwards Group have been practising singing to the backing track.

Today everyone attended QM Studios in Horsham to record the song, where they were also filmed and then featured on ITV News Meridian 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

As we look back at the first half of 2024, we're filled with gratitude and pride for all we've accomplished together. From inspiring studio experience days with local students and schools to our vibrant Blue Oasis discos, every moment has been a testament to the power of music and community.

We've had the honor of working on a heartfelt song with the Phoenix Stroke Club, supporting the young talents at Tanbridge School's Battle of the Bands, and lending a hand at the Kingslea School festival. Each project has brought us closer to our mission of making music accessible and meaningful for everyone.

We had the absolute privilege of setting up the PA system and running the sound for the Kingslea Primary School Festival over the weekend. It was an incredible experience to be part of such a vibrant and energetic event filled with amazing performances and joyful moments.

Seeing the excitement and talent of the students was truly inspiring, and we’re honored to have played a role in making the festival a success. 🎸💙 Help Matt Long in His Battle Against Cancer 💙🎸

Today, we're reaching out on behalf of an incredible musician and cherished member of our community, Matt Long from the award-winning blues rock band Catfish. Matt is currently facing the toughest battle of his life against bowel cancer, which has recently spread despite undergoing surgery and chemotherapy.

As Matt prepares for his upcoming wedding to the love of his life, Samantha Leese, and continues to inspire us with his courage, his family has embarked on a critical mission to access potentially life-saving treatment that isn't available through the NHS. This involves the sequencing of Matt’s tumor to identify the most effective treatments, a process that comes with significant costs.

They are close to their fundraising goal, only £18,000 away from giving Matt a fighting chance. Any contribution can make a huge difference in Matt's life, offering him and his family hope during this incredibly challenging time.

🕊️✨ A Heartfelt Tribute: Tristan Haines Requiem ✨🕊️

In a beautiful homage to a soul gone too soon, we are honored to share a poignant piece of music - a requiem for Tristan Haines, who left us in 2021 at the age of 32. This touching requiem, written by the incredibly talented Jane Willmott and Helen Vine, has been lovingly brought to life through the craftsmanship of our sound engineers, Jack and Rob, at QM Studios.

Featuring a choir of singers who are all friends of the composers from Henfield, West Sussex, with the emotive piano accompaniment provided by Simi Fyles, and the tones of the 'cello are played by Annette Williamson, adding further depth and emotion to this significant work.

We're still buzzing from the incredible talent and energy we witnessed at Tanbridge School's Battle of the Bands! It was an absolute honor for us at QM Studios to be invited to judge.

A massive congratulations to the winners, Gabriel's Angels, who truly lit up the stage with their amazing performance. 🏆🎶 They win well-deserved recording day at our studio, and we can't wait to see you bring your music to life here!

Let's not forget the phenomenal talent from all the bands that participated. A huge shout-out to Super Sis, Microphone Failure, F.A.I.L, and Firecracker Chiropractor!

We're taking you on a visual tour from the past to the present, showcasing the evolution of our beloved audio recording control room desk from 2020 to March 2024.

📸 Top Photo (March 2020): Notice the setup we had back then? It served us well, providing countless projects with the quality they needed. And if you look closely, you'll spot a cheeky cameo by the back of David Essex, gracing us with his presence during one of our Outreach Projects!

📸 Bottom Photo (March 2024): Fast forward to today, and you'll see how far we've come. Our desk has grown, now accommodating more computer monitors to streamline our workflow and enhance our recording capabilities. The RME audio interface has seen an upgrade, offering pristine audio quality that our users love. Plus, the heart of our operations, the computer, has been upgraded for faster processing – with plans to boost it even further in the near future.

We're proud of our growth and grateful for the journey. Here's to many more years of making music and memories!
