Had a great day at the studio trying out some of the new equipment. We have fallen in love with the SE Electronics Gemini 2 that was kindly provided to us by Decoy Studios .

We get a lot of questions about our setup here in the studio so this is it!
We work with Dolby Atmos
which allows creatives to place each sound exactly where they want it to go, creating a more realistic and immersive audio experience.

We are also partnered with Decoy Studios so have access to a lot of extra help and support.

SO WHAT HAS APPLE SPATIAL AUDIO, DOLBY ATMOS AND 7.1.4 GOT TO DO WITH ME?
Apple Music and Spotify are only putting tracks on their playlists if they are in this format. Does anyone care?

Major labels, do and they are insisting that tracks are mixed in this format as well as stereo. But for emerging bands and independents they need play lists to help them, so you need to have a mix converted to this format. Major recording Studios are build certified Dolby reference rooms as fast as they can as back catalogues that are on popular playlists, and new releases require it.

HAMFORD STUDIO IS CAPABLE OF MIXING IN DOLBY ATMOS
The studio is equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate and the Dolby Atmos Production Suite. Apple Airpod Max reference headphones will be used along with the certified Dolby Atmos reference room in Decoy Studios. Training is underway jointly with Decoy Studios. Contact us if you want to convert a stereo mix to 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos.
