Excellent recording session today with Capricorn Picnic The lads started a new tune that is already sounding very cool, even in the first phase. Got electronic drums and bass, lead vocals, acoustic and electric guitar down. Next stage is backing vocals, synth and maybe even mandolin. They draw the line at my washboard.

Excellent recording session today for Ross Alcock with Ruth Campbell on vocals. She came in well prepared, knew the songs and sang with exactly the right qualities the music needed. An easy day for me.

Great day today in Stealth Recording Studios Glasgow with 2 sessions. David Torrance in first to remix a song and then Leona Skimming to work on edits for a special event that she will be playing a VERY important role in. I hope I don't get the mix files mixed up. Would that be mixing squared?

Out tonight at the Scotia bar , watching Les Barrett standing in on drums, providing a solid beat for the Friday night band. It's what the football commentators would call a "safe pair of hands". Proving the point once again that if the drummer balances the kit while playing, the rest of the sound is a skoosh. Don't tell anybody I let the secret out.

Great day recording and mixing 2 new songs with Pangean Sons. Apart from me forgetting to turn a fader up at one point (I only had ONE job!) it all went like clockwork. Must buy a big arrow to point at the fader for next time.

In Stealth Recording Studios Glasgow as always. Usual mix (see what I did there?) of audio editing but also video editing today. And here's another warning about A.I. I generated this image in about 10 seconds in Photoshop latest beta version. I typed "Ape in a recording studio, at a mixing desk". Creative people with skills are on the way out (maybe). Of course, if I had done this manually I would have picked a grey or black shirt.

Interesting international job this time. I recorded vocals for Bridget which were sent to her producer in Africa for editing and mixing with the music he had arranged. Then the final mix was sent back to me to use for the video. Had a few sessions like this recently. So if you need something similar (as in, recording and/or editing material to be added to an external production), message me. Thanks.

Blast from the past. Graphical User interface I designed for Drumagog, around 20 years or more ago. The software made it easy for producers and sound engineers to replace or augment/blend real drum recordings with a wide range of drum sounds recorded at top worldwide studios. My pay was that I got a copy of the final software and updates. At the time the software was a very ugly prototype with no guarantee of success. As it turned out it ended up selling very well and was used (and still is) by most big studios. I also turned down the Beatles.

Great couple of recording and mixing sessions with Braw just completed. Working on a new song. Did drums, bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, dual vocals and piano and electric piano. And tambourine. And got it all edited and mixed. But, the final touch will be violin and the violinist is in cryogenic suspension. Once he thaws out we will get him in to finish the tune. Off to see the guys play tonight at McChuills.

Just got word that Pirate's Gold from Sound Of Water - Productions , featuring Ruth Campbell on vocals and Susan Stirling on violin and backing vocals will be played this Thursday on https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001fmpw Well done Ross Alcock, Ruth and Susan. Always nice to hear stuff recorded at Stealth Recording Studios Glasgow on the radio. Pirate's Gold will be the next single released from the album I think.

I had a pal who is dead now who liked Comumbo but taped it so he could watch the start with the killing, then fast forward to the end, so he could see the killer being caught without all that boring talking inbetween.
