We are thrilled to have Julian Clary guest star on our new radio sitcom 'Tom and Lauren Are Going OOT'. A beloved comedian and entertainer, Julian has been recognised for his work on stage and screen collecting multiple awards and accolades. He stars as Tom and Lauren's nosey neighbour Neil.

Of his special guest starring appearance, Julian Clary said; "The scripts were brilliant and I can now understand a Geordie accent. Happy Days."

Co-star and writer of 'Tom and Lauren Are Going OOT!' Tom Machell is an award-winning writer and actor known for his work on Vera, Hullraisers and The Emily Atack Show and is passionate about working in his native North East.

“It’s just the best thing in the world to finally be able to write something for Newcastle, record it in Newcastle with a bunch of Geordies (plus a couple of honorary Geordies!). Our city is a melting pot of talent and hopefully paves the way for more people to invest in North East Creatives.”

“Tom & Lauren are Going Oot!” is a brand new comedy from writer/ performers Tom Machell and Lauren Pattison who play our title characters - Tom and Lauren - a professional millennial Geordie couple who are battling the age-old problem of leaving the house together, on time.

Starring alongside Machell and Pattison is renowned comedian Julian Clary as their neighbour (and self-appointed head of the building committee) Neil.

Episode 1 will air exclusively on BBC Radio 4 on the 14th August 2024 at 11.15PM and available later on BBC Sounds 📻🎧

A little while ago we were commissioned by the Northumbria Natural History Society to spend some time filming their nature reserve in Newcastle. We loved being surrounded by nature and spending the days watching birds and mammals in all shapes and sizes enjoy this special place. Hope you all enjoy this video

Screening Klaxon!!

This Friday 12th July, there will be a special screening of Inner Gods! We worked with the team at Gateway Studio CIO to create the dance video and accompanying documentary.

The screening is part of a double bill Tyneside Cinema celebrating Black and global majority artists in the North East, encompassing film, music and performance, followed by a special Q&A and afterparty.

Last week we were busy recording our new show for BBC Radio 4 - Tom and Lauren are Going OOT!

What a BLAST!

Big thanks to our fabulous duo Tom Machell and Lauren Pattison, our director supreme Kat Armitage, awesome sound team of Tom Glenwright and Philip Quinton, and our very special guest stars (stand by for the big reveal in approximately 6 weeks time ;))

We recorded everything at Pride Media Centre, where we are based, and it certainly made a change from filming in the cold outdoors!

Last week producers Maria and Zahra were in Glasgow for the BBC comedy festival. Many thanks to the BBC Comedy team for organising such a great event. There were loads of opportunities to network with fellow producers, writers, directors and commissioners, but one of the highlights was definitely listening to Jennifer Saunders talk about her career in comedy. Looking forward to next year!

This weekend Maria spent the weekend in France (Longeville-sur-mer to be exact) working on "Soon We Will All Be History Here" with writer / director Saeed Taji Farouky, co-producer Estelle Robin You and editor Catherine Rascon-Courtin.
The four day long workshop was possible because of funding secured from the French film fund.
The workshop begun with a visit to a wildlife centre to learn about Falcons and other birds of prey, followed by a Kintsugi workshop. Learning the art of Kintsugi was also a chance to talk about grief and healing, two themes that are essential to the story of the film.
The last few days were focused on reading through the script and discussing each scene in depth, as well as a production meeting with co-producer May Odeh and Joram Willink.
The location was a mixture of inspiring and peaceful - the perfect combination to allow creativity and honest discussion to flow.

Spent the last few days working on a feature film set in North Shields.
We were approached by a Spanish production to run the shoot day in England. Can't give anything away so here is a shot of some lovely fishing boats!
