Remember Evie? 🫧 I've spent much of the year working on a series of packaging prototypes for their Brightening Primer, which will be the brand's inaugural product launch.⁠

Embracing vibrant hues and clean, informative typography, I'm pleased to say that we've locked in the designs for these tubs. We've opted for a matte finish, which provides the most pleasing, tactile experience for the user. As the tubs will be refillable, we found that the matte finish was more resistant to scratches and fingerprints thus helping maintain the aesthetic appeal over time.⁠

Last year, I took on an exciting challenge: crafting a vibrant website for , a strategic design studio exclusively devoted to ambitious food and drink brands. The mission was crystal clear: to encapsulate the studio’s dynamic personality and infectious energy, ensuring an unforgettable user experience.

From bold typography to a captivating colour palette, every pixel of the website pulsates with life and character. At the heart of our design lies the dynamic light/dark mode toggle—a game-changer that seamlessly switches between two contrasting colour schemes, each evoking distinct moods. To amplify this experience, I meticulously built a series engaging micro-interactions and animations, infusing the site with a lively and playful atmosphere.

It was an honour to work with one of my favourite Scottish brands again, . MCS rebranded the business back in 2018 and, ever since then, I had been badgering Rosie about a website redesign. Five years later, I'm so pleased to introduce the brand's new digital shopfront.⁠ 🧶⁠

We embarked on this project at the start of the year to ensure it'd be ready for the launch of her AW23 collection. Here are a few wireframes that highlight my favourite features:⁠

1. A robust filtering system that enables customers to completely customise their shopping experience. Most notably, customers can now shop by cult-favourite colours across all product types. So, if you love Earl Grey, you can now shop all product types in that colourway. A win for fans of the brand.⁠
2. The introduction of carousels enables Rosie to reshuffle, reorganise and rearrange her digital displays on a daily basis.⁠
3. Customers can now deep-dive into how each item is made, from fibre origin to how it's finished. This content was previously hidden in an outdated blog format, but is now celebrated as a key part of the user's journey. This section is wrapped up in nostalgia and filled with emotion as Rosie recalls vivid childhood memories.⁠

's website is now live! 🎊

Establishing the business' first online presence was such a privilege. As recipients of the KBB Kitchen Designer of the Year 2023, they wanted a website to showcase all that a kitchen could be. Their customers don't choose from pre-designed styles and layouts. Instead, their kitchen is completely tailored to their unique preferences and lifestyle. All kitchens are made in their workshop on the outskirts of North Berwick.

There are lots of front-end joys for customers, as well as a multitude of back-end solutions to ease the team's workflow. This new website coincides with the launch of Archispek Pro, the business' dedicated trade programme.

When asked me to redesign their website last summer, their primary goal was to improve their search engine ranking.

Their previous website was created only a short time before, but it was actually damaging their ranking due to various unresolved issues, from broken internal links to under-optimised meta tags and missing H1 tags.

Since day one, my approach has been the same: do it right then do it better. So, in that vein, I redesigned and rebuilt their website with effective SEO then began the task of establishing and maintaining their SEO ranking. I have a strict protocol that I've been following (and adapting) since 2017; this allows me to mitigate the potential dangers of migration and, instead, increase the site's performance in search results. 📈

My protocol includes, but is not limited to, conducting daily site audits to flag any technical issues, optimising the site for local searches, building backlinks, thoroughly researching keywords and participating in the never-ending task of on-page optimisation and relevant content creation.

Some designers perceive SEO as a hindrance, something that impacts the overall look/feel of a website. I'm really pleased that I successfully balance SEO and UX. My websites look good, function well and yield results.

It was such a joy to work with Lesley from again. We've worked together numerous times over the years in various capacities, from packaging design to countertop displays.⁠

This time, Lesley asked me to create a set of illustrations to break up her typographic-led visual identity. I knew immediately that I wanted to draw her bestsellers: Cinnamon Bun, Frangipane Tart and Honeymoon Slice. Immediately recognisable as 's signature bakes, I stacked them in a way that mimicked the placement of her logotype.⁠

The idea is to use them as a stack or as individual icons across numerous applications, from enamel pins to stickers.⁠
