Alexandra & Evan - Dundas Castle

An incredible celebration, With Alexandra and Evan’s family and friends coming over from The US to celebrate at the gorgeous Dundas Castle expertly planned by Lisa at Tartan Weddings.

Always nice to share some interests with a couple, so to hear that both Alexandra & Evan love Lego and to see that Evan chose Guinness as his signature drink for their guests just made my day. Let me know when you’ve built the Titanic guys.An epic day

Getting to film a friend’s wedding is always special. Erin & Stephen had the perfect day celebrating with their family and Friends in Gartmore. A perfect spot for their day. We even managed to have an outside ceremony and some photos before the rain came in

Absolutely stunning day.

Also. The Darkness ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ as a reading!!! Genius. Beautifully read by Fraser I should add.

’m always up for an adventure, so when Kirsty and Paul said that they wanted to go on the 4x4 to the waterfall at Carrick Castle Estate they didn’t have to ask twice. We bundled into the back of the pick up truck and away we went…and it was so so worth it. There was no stopping Kirsty as she clambered over the rocks. The only thing that came close to scuppering us was the dreaded Midge…it was a swarm. Didn’t stop us though.

What a day this was, thank you for having us guys it was so much fun.

Gemma & Aaron
We were at Carlowrie Castle for Gemma & Aaron’s wedding. With the weather playing ball it was an outside ceremony and the gardens looked amazing.

Gemma was a Bridesmaid at a very close friend’s wedding a few years ago so it was a real honour to be filming her wedding to Aaron. What a day it was right through to the dancing.

Thanks for having us.

Thanks to Jen and Ailsa at Carlowrie for helping make this such an awesome day and looking after us so well.

Kat & Scott

I’ll be honest, when Kat’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time it got me a little choked uo. Just the sheer joy and emotion of seeing his daughter on her wedding day. You’ll know what I mean when you see it.

What a brilliant day from the morning preps through to the dancing, it was a day packed with a lot of love and a lot of laughter.

f you are going to have a wedding in the banks of Loch Lomond then you have to have a pipe band eh?

John arrived in style to Luss parish church with the Neilston District Pipe Band piping him along the shore and the providing a guard of honour for Cheryl and her bridesmaids.

A great day at Loch Lomond then onto Rosslea Hall Hotel in Rhu for the party.

Absolutely delighted with my new professional shots from the brilliant Stuart at 1500 Photography exactly what I was looking for.

So I thought I’d use these as an excuse to reintroduce myself as the man behind the camera, JP. I’ve been professionally filming weddings for 18 years, However I actually filmed my first wedding 28 years ago with a borrowed VHS camcorder and edited with two VCRs and a hifi all connected together in a web of cables, sticky tape and a lot of hope.

Time and technology has thankfully moved on and editing is much easier and we have cameras that can fly, but at the core, my desire to film weddings and to tell your story has always stayed the same. Below is the story of why telling your day is so important to me and what drives me to do this all year long for 18 years, come wind hale or sun (which appears more often than you would think)

“Do you notice anything different about me?” 24 years on and I can still recall everything about that moment, It was the start of a relationship that has lead to over 19 years of marriage, 3 houses, 2 kids, 2 cats, a dog, a business and lots and lots and lots of Lego and I mean lots of Lego.

I can trace everything back to when Lianne, my wife asked me that question, everything good in my life from then has happened because of that moment. More moments would follow, the moment Lianne turned up at the church 15 minutes early on our wedding day, the moment I saw my daughter for the first time and realised it wasn’t just me and Lianne anymore, that I had someone else to care about and the moment my son arrived and thinking I was still scared of being a parent to one child let alone two.

Everyone has their own moments where their life pivots. Many of us will meet someone, many of us will get married and may have children but these events are individual to each and everyone who experiences them. We come to them as different people with different histories, they happen to us differently, often in a different order and with other moments in between. These times, these experiences collectively tell your unique story.

These unique stories are what drive us to do what we do, the idea that we get to meet a couple and tell a story that is individual to them is a powerful incentive to get up, go to work and create. I treasure these moments in my life and I know how much I want to feel those moments again.

This is what goes into every film we create, it is the entire foundation of our company, to take you back to that moment in time and not just watch what happened on your wedding day but feel it and relive it as close as possible.

Oh and in answer to your question what was different about Lianne? Her glasses and in answer to your second question yes I did notice.

IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!!!!

17 years ago today we filmed our first of over 600 weddings and it has been the most fun and joyous 17 years.

As it's our birthday we thought we'd answer the one question we are asked all the time. How do you say your name?

If you're from Dumbarton or Fife then you already know but we hear it pronounced differently all the time, is it 'Leh-ven' or is it 'Lee-ven'?

The answer is 'Lee-ven'. We are named after the River Leven which flows through Dumbarton and connects the River Clyde with Loch Lomond. A nice wee bit of symbolism for a company that films weddings.

So now you know how to say our name here is a highlights from one of our all time favourite days here in Dumbarton and you will see the mighty River Leven in the video. (you'll also see the Clyde but we're concentrating on the Leven 😀)

If we have filmed your wedding over these past 17 years then thank you, it is always an honour to be asked to be part of someone's day. If you have booked us for your future wedding then I can't wait.

Enjoy Lisa and Ross's highlights you can just see the fun we had that day
