ESSENTIAL TRAFFIC LOOP INSTALLATION ON THE A82 AT OLD KILPATRICK COMMENCES WEDNESDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2024

Amey South West Trunk Roads, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential overnight traffic loop installation on the A82 southbound at Old Kilpatrick, prior to the A898 Erskine Bridge from 10pm on Wednesday 18th December until 6am on Thursday 19th December 2024.

This work will require a single overnight closure at this location and a signed diversion will be in operation - Southbound traffic will join the A811 at Balloch and turn right onto the A809 to Bearsden, then take the third exit at the roundabout onto the B8050 Baljaffray Road, the A810 Glasgow Road and continue onto the A82 southbound to turn at Kilbowie Roundabout and return north for Dumbarton and the Erskine Bridge.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

Some tips from our friends at Mentor Scotland for mental health and wellbeing this Christmas.

We'll be adding our Mental Health Awareness Show with Mentor Scotland from last Saturday to the listen again pages very soon!

Taking Care of Your Mental Health This Festive Season

We aren’t professionals, and we don’t offer advice, but here are some tips that might help you take care of your mental health and wellbeing during the festive period:

1. Connect with others.
Take the time to have a conversation, even a lighthearted one. Listening and sharing moments with others, without judgment, can make a big difference in how you feel.

2. Keep moving.
Movement is incredibly important for mental health. A 15-minute walk, getting fresh air, and being outdoors can work wonders for your mind and body, helping to calm the nervous system.

3. Enjoy a shared moment.
Whether it’s having a meal, sharing a cup of tea, or simply sitting together, these small shared moments can bring comfort and connection.

4. Take things one step at a time.
If tasks feel overwhelming, break them into smaller, more manageable steps. Small actions, like tidying one space or running a simple errand, can help you feel calmer and more in control.

5. Slow down and breathe.
Amid the festive rush, remember to take time for yourself. Step outside, pause for a moment and focus on your breathing. Slowing down can help reduce stress and ground you in the present.

If you’re struggling, remember it’s okay to reach out. Speak to someone you trust, connect with a support group, or simply let someone know how you’re feeling. You are not alone.

This Christmas, be kind to yourself. Take time to rest, connect, and look after your well-being.

Merry Christmas,
Jamie
End the Stigma ❤️
