I had a wobbly Christmas 2021, wondering if I would ever make it into the industry. 7 months later and I am so grateful to be staying in Salford, doing what I love with a great group of people. 🤍

Job Update: Thrilled to have been offered a permanent position as a Studio Director at 5Live.

It’s been a whirlwind two months of learning, trailing and trialling. But it’s also been a dream come true, working with amazing people (and being so close to broadcasting legends) that I can’t wait to keep doing this for the next few years and beyond…

Also I’m on the night shift this week so don’t expect too much else from me ✨

First day at BBC and the system already recognises me (which apparently counts for something). Got started straight away, training in the studios and getting to grips with the equipment. Can’t believe this is now my job ✨

In just a few weeks I’ll be starting my new job with BBC Operations as a studio director for BBC Radio 5 Live! I still can’t quite believe it! Three years ago I was waiting for my Salford offer, and now I’ve got my dream job 🤍

Can’t wait to get started!

✨Natural Habitat✨
Been spending a lot of time in the studio recently, and it’s truly become a place of comfort and joy. Beyond grateful to be able to learn in these studios. I’ve done art shows , chat shows, travel shows, social awareness shows, immersive shows in Greek mythology and soon underwater, general election coverage, tribute shows, award coverage, inductions, music shows, phone ins, live interviews, and so many quizzes! I’ve hosted, produced, interviewed, studio managed, but most of all learnt the feeling of someone saying “I really enjoyed listening to what you put together”, and wanting to do it all over again. And honestly, that’s the reason we do it 🧡📻

✨NEW SHOW ✨

Last year I had little time to make something for myself. I spent a lot of it learning and immersing myself in studio radio, listening to everyone say “this is when you can do this silly shows just for you”.

So I decided to do just that.

‘Horriblie Histories: In Between The Songs’ is an “educational” podcast that involves me going through all the iconic songs from the series (which is all of them) and go into more depth about what the songs include: historical context and pop references. This series is very much just for me to laugh at myself but I kind of hope others will enjoy it’s weirdness as much as I do. ❤️

This was me a year ago ✨

Dressed up with slippers on, drink number two in hand, nervous as hell to see if I would win, surrounded by my friends in the comfort of our flat, saw my name on the screen and cheered for the winners. And it was one of the best experiences of my radio life so far.

This year, we’re back. In person, at the O2, with everyone and industry and heels and speeches. I won’t be worried about winning, and I’ll be the loudest in the room for everyone else. And it’ll still be one of the best experiences of my radio life.

Of course I wish I had the in-person experience for my nomination, who wouldn’t? But I got a nomination last year, and this year I get to go stress free. I can’t wait, let the party begin! 🥰
