Hi All
You may recall that on September 25th I took the plunge to raise funds
for "The Brightwell Neurological Centre" here in Bradley Stoke.
The day was hosted by "Newfound Friends" a registered Charity that uses the life-saving, water rescue skills of the Newfoundland dog to raise money for various charities, I would like to thank Dave Pugh, Ellie and all of the Newfound friends team for an amazing well organised day.
Special thanks to "Eddie" the dog who rescued me.
Big thank also goes out to Tony Binding of Tony Binding Photography who captured the day with his amazing camera skills, All links posted below.
After getting changed into a wet suit and feeling like Mr Blobby's long lost cousin, I was given a safety briefing by Ellie and that was it I was off to get on the boat and taken out to the middle of the marina, then told to jump in, well I opted for sliding in gracefully and yes the water took my breath away it was very cold, and when I looked to boat had moved away so started to splash around (as instructed) and then Eddie the dog jumped off the boat and headed in my direction, I caught hold of the ring on his collar and he took me to shore and I have to say its was an amazing experience for many reasons, becoming Mr Blobby's cousin, being a dog toy for a while and jumping into the freezing marina, but most of all to be able to help raise money for
The Brightwell Neurological Centre,, Big thanks to all involved and special thanks to everyone who supported me.
