🙏 🐶 MISSING DOG ALERT 🙏 🐶

A Belfast family say they are desperate to have their four-legged friend found, after he went missing on Friday. They are appealing for the public's help.

Stitches, escaped from home in the Carrick Hill area on Friday night, and was spotted in the city centre, but has not yet returned home.

🩵🩵🩵The 9/11 Hero Dogs museum exhibition holds photos and bios of the dogs who worked the Twin Towers and Pentagon wreckage.

🩵Sage. A Border Collie. Happy with endless energy. Her first mission was searching the Pentagon wreckage after the attacks. She recovered the body of the terrorist who piloted American Airlines Flight 77.

🩵Riley: Golden Retriever trained to find living people. Instead, he recovered the remains of firefighters. His handler said: “When firefighters and police officers came over to hug him, you could see them crack a smile—that Riley was succeeding at doing an altogether different job. He provided comfort.”

🩵Coby and Guiness. Black and yellow Labradorables from California. Surfer dudes during their off duty. They found dozens of human remains.

🩵Abigail. Golden Labradorable. Happy. Energetic. Committed. Worked tirelessly. Treated to bacon butties.

🩵Jenner. Black Labradorable. At age 9, he was one of the oldest dogs on the scene. Jenner’s handler, Ann Wichmann, remembers: “It was 12 to 15 stories high of rubble and twisted steel. My first thought was, ‘I can't send Jenner into that…’ At one point, [Jenner] disappeared down a hole under the rubble and I was like, ‘Ugggggh!' Such a heart-stopping moment..."

🩵Trakr. German Shepherd. Tireless worker. Worked until he couldn’t stand up anymore. Trakr found Genelle Guzman-McMillan, who was trapped for 27 hours among the debris. Genelle was facing death until dead Trakr’s cold nose poked through the mangled steel.

🩵Apollo. German Shepherd. An NYPD police dog. Jet black muzzle and gentle soul. The first dog on the scene, only 15 minutes after the attacks. Apollo worked 18-hour days. Once, he was nearly killed in a fire during his search. But Apollo had been drenched in water and he was quick on his feet. No injuries.

🩵Jake. Labradorable. As a puppy, Jake was found on the side of the road in Dallas. Abandoned. He had a dislocated hip and a broken leg. Then he became a rescue dog. Jake worked until he was exhausted. After his shifts, he was treated him to free steak dinners in upscale Manhattan restaurants.

🩵Bretagne. Golden Retriever. Easygoing. Dutiful. Obsessed with food. Her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss, a firefighter from Harris County, Texas, brought Bretagne to Ground Zero while the rubble was still hot. Bretagne went straight to work. She worked for 10 days solid. She napped onsite.
Denise recalls: “There are images of Bretagne going to where she was directed to search, into the unknown, the chaotic environment. But even then, she knew who needed the comfort of a dog, and which firefighter needed to hold her close and stroke her.”

In retirement, Bretagne became a reading dog at a primary school.🩵🩵

💙Soda💙 is a sweetheart Saluki Whippet mix who is looking for her forever family. She is 11 weeks old. Hobbies include being a wee dote, zoomies, sleepies, lots of fun, learning all the news stuff and being loved and cuddled. She is still very small and delicate at the moment and will require all basic puppy training and someone home most of the time initially or the company of another dog. Soda is dog, cat and child friendly. 💙Jess💙is a beautiful and bright working Collie who is looking for a great home. She is 4. Hobbies include puzzles, herding things about, being a brainiac, lots of activity and games, cuddles and company. She is struggling struggling with sanctuary life and needs more mental and physical stimulation than the team and volunteers can give her. She is an intelligent girl who has basic foundation training in recall and walking and may well be suited to further training for activities such as agility or flyball. 💙Luka💙is a long legged Saluki Whippet mix who is looking for his forever home. He is 6 months old. Hobbies include being a daftie, all the smiles, zoomies, playing with his muckers, loving his toys, adoring cuddles and chin scratches. He was rescued from the dog pound and is now waiting to find the very best home. At the moment he will need all basic puppy training, including lead training. We are working on the lead training, but they are still a little nervous about it. 💙Monty💙is a smashing Dalmation who is looking for a loving home. He is 10 months old, so still just a big puppy. Hobbies include being a babe, making friends easily with dogs, cats and people, loving attention, being a big softie, having boundless energy. He loves his grub and can be a little protective of it so like all pups, he will need ongoing training. Like most Dallies, he is a big strong unit, built for long distance running. A very active home needed to meet Monty's needs and his love of attention and bedtime stories.
