The fresh crop anaerobic natural Kerinci has landed. We’re delighted to support for a second year running. As per usual it’s big, vibrant and tropical. Guava, Dried Mango, Stewed Cherries, and Cacao Nibs.

Triyono and the Barokah cooperative team aren’t too bad either. Their coffee produce has opened new ports, advanced novel processing methods and revolutionised Sumatra’s approach to the specialty market.

Our brew recipe for the washed coffee is provided by Shreyas of roasters India! For Exemplar India we wanted to provide a platform for Indian voices to reflect on the latest developments in India’s specialty coffee landscape. Queue Blue Tokai. Founded in 2013, Blue Tokai was established to address a lack of market knowledge and exposure for new Indian specialty producers.

Shreyas is Blue Tokai’s head roaster and is well versed in both roasting and brewing Kerehaklu coffees. Blue Tokai have worked with Kerehaklu since 2019, so there’s really no better man for the job 😎 Cheers Shreyas!

Delighted to have Raghunath and Namisha of provide some thoughts on Indian specialty and a top notch recipe for our in Volume 2 Issue 1.

I first came across Aramse when Raghunath produced a video on SCA taste notes and how they correlate with Indian palates for the YouTube channel. That was several years ago, but since then Aramse has became a coffee company focused on innovative product design and curated coffee subscriptions. Their YouTube channel shows how brewing coffee can be as much fun as drinking it.

The second coffee in the Exemplar India complete boxset is an anoxic natural from Ratnagiri Estate. Mr Ashok Patre had built something of a reputation for his endeavours in coffee fermentation.

Be prepared for every flavour you’d thought to have experiences from an Indian coffee to be turned upside down and inside out 🫥

Big tropical flavours on the front, with more nuanced herbaceous and florality on the finish as the cup cools.
