Shaun Napier: Why I am riding in the DGR.

Cancer and Mental Health has been a part of my life for the last 10 years.

During that time I have tried to spread a story of positivity and a strong mindset. Fundamental steps in dealing with any major challenge. I started this journey as I felt that there was no one talking about it.

When I found my freedom on a motorcycle I decided to do what I can do help others. Try to show what a positive mental approach an do. Not to specifically save you but to help you embrace what you have rather than focusing on what you don’t.

I am riding in the DGR because it combines my 2 loves. Motorcycles and spreading positivity. I am also doing this in memory of a good friend of mine that was lost to cancer - Damien “king” Lee. He was a shining example of what a great human being can achieve despite humongous challenges.

This year I have the honour of leading the Basingstoke ride which is made even more special now that I am 2 weeks into a 24 month chemo cycle.

Thank you to everyone for the amazing support.

Just remember: You are stronger than you will ever know and make sure to embrace live with everything you are. Stay safe and I’ll see you on the road.

Shaun

Mark Yabsley: Why I am riding in the DGR.

I think DGR is the perfect way to raise money while doing one of the things I love most - riding my bike. I've lost a number of friends and family to cancer, some taken far too young. When I can I try to help support the organisations who are trying to raise awareness and trying to find ways to defeat it. Movember has created a great movement to help men live happier, healthy longer lives
