I still can't get over having had the opportunity to put this together. Saw this announcement was 9 years ago today.

Blood Music is extremely, incredibly proud to announce the greatest extreme metal band of all-time to its roster - Emperor official!

We've been working behind-the-scenes for more than a year - carefully compiling every detail of Emperor's oeuvre from the minute they began in 1991 until their final breath in 2007. We are working directly in conjunction with the members themselves to compile the most incredible, beautiful, and archival collection one could ever imagine into a massive COMPLETE WORKS box set, due to be released in approximately one year.

This will be the first time the band's music will be properly remastered for vinyl, as well as presented in true vinyl special editions of any kind. An insane honor for us to take part in.

Start saving your money this minute. The box set will be a one-time only, limited edition pressing. There will be no copies of our records outside the box set this time. This will be a unique offering that will make a massive mark upon the history of metal and quickly vanish into thin air.

I just heard about the passing of Trevor Strnad. This is a devastating loss for the metal scene.

Even though Trevor and I never communicated directly, I always considered him a beacon of light in an increasingly-more difficult to survive music industry. On top of his own huge musical accomplishments, he was also a champion of hundreds (if not thousands) of young bands he believed in. He used his platform of more than a million followers to do it - through social media, blogging, and touring. Not for any personal benefit but to support the scene at large.

He championed multiple bands of ours. I remember him publicly going to bat for Ifing when no one had heard of them to support fellow Michigan musicians.

I'm truly sorry he didn't achieve the peace he deserved. And also sorry for the hole this loss creates in the scene at large. We need more people out there like Trevor.

We're facing extremely difficult times with mental health, and all of us are fighting our own private battles. I hope any of you that are struggling will reach out to those around you for the help you need. And I hope they will give you the ears to listen that you deserve.

My heart goes out to everyone. We need more beacons of light in this increasingly difficult-to-navigate scene. The ones who despite any major accomplishments stick to their roots of championing the quality and drive of aspiring musicians.

RIP Trevor. You touched so many people and will be missed by all.

SIGNING OFF

Aquilus, Carbon Based Lifeforms, and Corpo-Mente records arrived to our shippers in Ireland and have been checked in. We're aiming for all open pre-orders to be sent around the world before Christmas.

Additionally, the Perturbator "Lustful Sacraments" Blood Edition 2xLPs are packed up. We're aiming to have them shipped just before Christmas as well (hopefully).

That said, the label cranking full-time on new releases is coming to an end (for the moment).

I will take more downtime next year, and T will continue to manage the webshops and support boxes part-time.

I'm sure we will be back with some needed represses in the distant future (when demand grows), as well as "Bellum II" and a couple other things.

But for now, a much-needed bit of rest and a lot of writing.

I hope all the records arrive safely and that everyone has a nice holiday.

Really don't have the words to express how grateful I am for all the kind support and recognition over the years. It's so far beyond what I ever imagined.

We are finished releasing items for the year. It was our busiest in a very long while and will be our last busy year overall, as most bands have moved on.

This year we released:

We have no new albums turned in for next year at this time, and with plant delays on vinyl so severe, I would expect the next album or two to come out in 2023.

We will remain open next year. I have decided to keep T on, and the webstores will remain open with records shipping, even though we will otherwise be quiet. Albums will stay available on digital services, in distribution, and via Bandcamp.

It's been a true pleasure to work on all this material throughout the years. I'm very proud we were able to round out this year with the highest of quality and thank you all for the huge and undying support.

We will still be shipping through the first half of next week.

I also have some general thoughts about the current state of the music industry I may share over the next days too if I manage to get the energy.

Shipping updates:

- As all music fans know, the plants were jammed all year. It's a miracle we finished everything on time. The Aquilus records finished pressing 3 (!) months ago, in fact, but we've been having a hell of a time getting them to ship. We're finally almost there. Details below:

• USA/Canada store (Blood Music) / Bandcamp (worldwide) - records arrived two days ago, waiting to be checked in by our shippers. This is a really busy time of year and health protocols are still in place, so give a bit of time for it all to get checked in and sent out. Hopefully starts shipping end of this week!

• Rest of the World store (Blood Music) - records are still at the factory :(, but they assured us they are sending this week. Should hopefully arrive to us ~next week to be checked in then quickly sent.

• T-shirts - should arrive to our shippers tomorrow, we'll express mail a copy of each one here to Finland to check for quality. If all is good, they will send right after!

• Retail in Germany/Switzerland/Austria - records should have arrived on time and already be shipping.
• Retail in France - records should have arrived on time and already be shipping.
• Retail in UK - records arrived just a tiny bit late but are either already shipping or should be any day now.
• Retail in USA/Canada - "Bellum I" CDs were delivered on time and should be already sent. Vinyl and "Griseus" CDs are being delivered any day now, as they are just clearing customs. This means release will probably be delayed by a few weeks on those, as USA is a large market and takes a bit of time to send around.

It's all in progress, and we anticipate everything from our shops being sent out before the holidays!
