Our director Casper Christensen directed the two new TV Spots we did for Norm Invest A/S with our friends at Unknown 🙌 Between filming in the freezing ocean to visiting a vampires lair in a somewhat medieval castle, we had a blast on this shoot 😂 And as you can see on this behind the scenes film we had a lot of moving parts go into this to end up with 2 x 20 sec TV spots, 2 x 30 sec TV spots and 2 x 40 sec SoMe spots 👏

Marking Toms Gruppen A/S 100-year celebration, we delved into a vast catalogue of archive footage showcasing their historic milestones throughout the years 🎉 How do you bring these scenes to life in a digital manner, making them look fresh and modern while fitting into the narrative of a modern corporation? 🤔 Well, we decided to shoot most of the film using a virtual production stage. Here, we could create various scenes, including the Toms Headquarters in Ballerup. For several weeks, we worked on adjusting the key light, the mood, the timing, the framing, and the weather - all done in 3D - before the actual shoot day, ensuring hours of perfect weather conditions surrounding the Toms Headquarters. And let’s be honest - conditions that the real life weather in Denmark wouldn’t allow 🌦 This technique also allowed us to virtually travel to the chocolate fields in Ghana - all while standing on Shortcut's LED Stage in Copenhagen. We used it to project animated versions of archival footage on the screen as well, allowing Michael Gade Thomsen to interact with it while telling the story 😄 Let’s go behind the scenes and take a look for yourself 👇

Today marks Toms Gruppen A/S 100th birthday. Excited to finally share this film with you, mixing set design, historical recordings, and virtual production to take you through the history of Toms Gruppen. A film that takes you on a journey through the history of how Toms Gruppen came to be what we know it to be today, along with the markings of brands such as Anthon Berg, Galle & Jessen, Pingvin, and many more classics that we all cherish. The film is shot on a mix of live-action set and virtual production on Shortcut Nordisk Film’s 360° LED stage, using Unreal to create 3D realistic sets, taking us as far as the chocolate plants in Ghana to Tom's Headquarters in Ballerup.
