Coup D'etat in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso’s president, Roch Marc Kaboré, has been arrested and detained by soldiers, according to local reports, in a coup attempt following heavy gunfire heard around his home in the capital, Ouagadougou, on Sunday night.

On Monday morning, armoured vehicles belonging to his presidential guard were seen covered in bullets and the seats soaked in blood, near the president’s residence.

Residents reported seeing a helicopter above Kaboré’s residence, following a day of gunfire and demonstrations, and the third coup in west Africa over the last year. The government also claimed on Sunday that the coup was thwarted and the instigators arrested.

The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Augustine Eguaveon, has resigned from his position as head coad of the team.

His resignation came as a result of the shocking defeat the team suffered from Tunisia yesterday at the Roumdè Ahidja Stadium in Garoua.

The Super Eagles were the only team to qualify with 9 points at the group stage of the ongoing tournament

Since the arrival of the Super Eagles team to Garoua, Cameroon, the muslim player Ahmed Musa and coach have been worshipping and saying their prayers to Allah at the mosque in Garoua.

Given the fact that the Mosque has not been completed, he made the donation inorder to push the work forward.

The Imam and all the population of Garoua has expressed thier gratitude towards Ahmed Musa and the Super Eagles team as a whole.

Bolo Haram leader, Aboukar Shekau is no more.

Reports say the terrorist group leader died days back on the verge of being captured by rival terrorist group, ISWAP. The group says Shekau died detonating explosives on himself.

It should be recalled this is not time the Bolo Haram leader is said to have died.
