For many decades, gramophone records (the black vinyl discs in Grandma’s attic) were made by cutting grooves directly into an acetate disc, then making a mold from that ‘master’ and then pressing records. Nowadays, we use digital recording software on our computers or even on our mobile phones. This digital approach can result in overly produced music and loss of being in ‘the moment’. So we have
decided to bring something unique for artists and musicians worldwide! Influx Studios have teamed up with the Centraldubs and LAGO Studios to bring Direct to Disc recording back to life! This allows for the performance to be direct to a vinyl record in real time and in a 100% analog signal path. We offer services that can be a simple single song studio recording that is direct to disc (vinyl) and something even more cutting edge; live concerts direct to disc! The artists can invite their fans, friends or colleagues to witness the entire process happen and be part of the experience. We offer Dubplates, 7inch singles, 10inch and 12inch recordings. The entire process is a live take scenario where the performance is ran directly to the vinyl through 2 studios and 3 rooms in real time, all positioned on the same floor of the building.
