Local businesses like Sunflower Bakery Cafe are the heart of our communities. They are the places we meet, connect and learn about the people around us.
We’re so thankful to have worked with the team at Sunflower for a project with Anthem Properties last fall. It was an early morning, but the coffee and donuts on set were a real highlight! 🍩 ☕️
The next time you’re in Squamish, we highly recommend you stop in! Our Producer/Director Amanda lives in Squamish and makes sure to visit as often as possible 😉

Everyone loves science! 🧬👩‍🔬
“Science World After Dark” is a 19+ event held at Science World every month! It’s a chance for adults to explore the exhibits with a live DJ and a drink in hand. Highly recommend to those who like to socialize and learn at the same time. The next event is Thursday, Sept. 19!

A collection of moments from our short films for The Surrey Local Immigration Project and DIVERSEcity.
These films took us across the lower mainland and into the lives of five incredible newcomers to Canada, culminating in a public screening that celebrated the diversity of Surrey, BC.
These people welcomed us into their homes and shared their food, families, and stories with us, and we could not be more thankful ❤️
To our partners at these agencies and these Storytellers: thank you. Thank you for your trust in us, and for your support throughout production. There were long days and many logistics, but it’s projects like this that will stay with us long after filming ends.
The full films will be online soon!
Rashi is a marketing expert from India who moved to Canada with her husband to give her son a better life. After moving to BC she was turned down from job after job due to her lack of “local knowledge.” She now helps others who are struggling to find meaningful work through a provincial agency.
Daniel is a migrant worker from Chile who experienced inhumane working conditions while on a farm in Abbotsford. He is now volunteering to help educate others migrant workers about their rights.
Moqadas is a journalist and refugee from Afghanistan who loves people. After fleeing her home due to threats on her life by the Taliban, she has helped to create a community for other Afghani newcomers to settle safely in Surrey.
Tayo is a dentist from Nigeria who restarted his education when he arrived in Canada. He and his wife welcomed their daughter just months after arriving in Canada and Tayo recently graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA.
Erika is a professor of biology in her home country of Colombia who moved to Surrey with her husband. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she realized how short life can be, and is working towards her Canadian high school diploma in order to continue her love of teaching. She is a passionate Ham radio operator who uses the hobby to practice her English language skills.

Moqadas was working as a journalist in Afghanistan when the Taliban took control. With her life in danger, she had no choice but to leave her home country and look for safety elsewhere. She came to Canada as a refugee, and is now helping others who have experienced similar challenges.
Over the past few months, Georgia Street Media has had the privilege of working with Surrey Local Immigration Partnership on a series of videos called "Stories of Impact."
This project is a celebration of the diverse and vibrant stories of immigrants in Surrey, BC.
We've created five inspiring short films that delve into the stories of immigrants from India, the Middle East, Africa and South America. Each of them has a unique journey, but they all share the same spirit of resilience and hope.
We are so proud to be attending a public screening today - July 24 - at the Surrey City Centre Branch Library.
A huge thanks to the team at DiverseCity, especially the wonderful Tina Balachandran, who has been at my (Amanda's) side throughout this entire process, connecting, advising, cheering and sharing her own story with me. She has been incredible to work with, and has become a true friend.
And to our Storytellers - we are so grateful for your time, your openness and your optimism. I am humbled to learn from you and help you tell your stories of challenge and triumph.
We are excited to share the full stories as they become public. Thank you!

Happy Earth Day!
We have been working with members of The Leq’á:mel First Nation and BC Hydro to create a video that shows the relationship the Nation’s members have with water.
Leq’á:mel is part of the Stó:lō Nation. Stó:lō means “People of the River.”
Located in Deroche, 22km east of Mission and 25km west of Agassiz, we traveled to Leq’á:mel multiple times to meet with council members and film with the community. We are so grateful for everyone who helped create this video and invited us onto the water.
This piece will be integrated into BC Hydro’s Power Smart for Schools educational resources for kindergarten to Grade Three students!
This video is voiced by council member Camielle Laslo - who is also featured in the video with her daughter. Camielle was a huge resource and help to us as we created this piece. Thank you Camielle!

Some recent work for our friends at PALS Autism School for their 2024 fundraising gala earlier this month. Congratulations on raising over $600,000!

Jordan spent the day at the school with help from Marco capturing the faces and places of this amazing organization. We needed to work with a small gear setup to stay mobile throughout the school's four floors, so we shot pretty much everything using the new Blazar Lens Remus 65mm T2 1.5x anamorphic lens on an A7SIII mounted on an iFootage International Cobra 2 Strike monopod, lit with a single Aputure F22C LED mat

Join us for a look behind the scenes as Amanda breaks down a project with her Co-Producer, Michael Dibblee!
Michael is the Director of Massif Creative, a branding and digital content agency, and a long-time GSM collaborator.
In the summer of 2023, GSM teamed up with Massif to create a series of videos to promote the Future Global Leaders (FGL) Program at the University of British Columbia.
💡 Together, we developed a creative that used a former FGL student as a host to guide viewers through what the program might look like. We spent two days filming with students on campus, and delivered 5 videos that focused on different benefits of the program.
👉🏻From the client: “We started promoting the summer program with the videos in mid-December and immediately thereafter we saw a spike in web visitors and engagement. We’ve had an amazing response thus far, and I’m sure it’s because of the amazing videos you’ve produced.
We’ve had an unprecedented rate of enrolment - never seen anything like it in the last 10 years!” 🤩
Amazing results and something we’re thrilled to hear after all the hard work we’ve put in!

We may love making movies with Cinephile Accounting but when it comes to taxes (and maybe laundry), they’re the real experts! This is the second ad in a series of four movie spoofs that we recently developed for Cinephile Accounting, shot and edited by Jordan Lee with help from Milena Salazar!

Our team recently wrapped up a series of mini docs for Engineers and Geoscientists of BC. Each film focuses on an award winner and the contributions they have made to their profession.
Now, I’m no engineer - which is exactly why these videos - and each person in them - fascinate me! It’s an opportunity to learn from and be inspired by a completely different world of work.
Pia Abercromby - featured in this excerpt - won ‘The Young Professional Award,’ and graciously let us film her running through the forest many, many times 😄 She spoke about how she’s a “sustainability learner” - and doesn’t need all the right answers to start making a difference.
Her words really hit home for me: “Have a think about what you’re passionate about, and look for the opportunity to involve those things in what you do everyday. I think that’s been a breakthrough really for me, is having that belief in myself and realizing it’s ok not to know everything, but to still give it a go.”
Congratulations Pia! You inspire us!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAYTON!
It’s mind blowing how much Clayton can accomplish in a day! From client meetings and shoot prep, to team lunches and project recaps - he does it all with incredible attention to detail and a positive attitude.
Clayton is hardworking, patient, and always striving to make each project better than the last. He’s generous and calm, and loves rearranging the office (tho we haven’t seen any green painter’s tape out recently 🤔).
Thankful that we’re part of your team! Wishing you a great day and an amazing year ahead!!
