No matter how busy he is, he finds time to buy our teen’s face moisturizer, shampoo-conditioner for curly hair, and perfume; all from different locations. Rearranges his schedule so he can attend Rhy’s school and sports events. He’s doing everything now because I’m away. And he’s doing an excellent job.

He knows Rhy’s needs as a teen and as a person. He sees Rhy. He listens. He is always there for him.

Arta is the dad epitome of “love is patient and kind”.

When I was single, the man of my dreams is a good dad; kind, sweet, good-looking, and a good provider to be exact. And he is exactly what we got 🩷

Proud of my unedited photos here and chubby thighs. At 43 y.o. and after a major (open) spine surgery in November, I want to thank my body for being so strong and for enduring soooo much!

From limping, so slow to walk, unable to bend and lift, and at the brink of being a PWD to getting healthier, stronger and running again!

Thank you so much “my body” for not giving up and for standing by me despite that I was losing hope.

Thank you to my Filipino surgeons, doctors, nurses and caregiver. They exceeded my expectations with flying colors and more! Filipino skills, professionalism, care and services at its best! Tunay na walang kapantay! Mabuhay kayong lahat! 🩷🩷🩷

Heartfelt thanks to my friends in Manila and in Canada for the care, loving thoughts, and gifts. You made the journey tolerable, and, honestly, easier. Thank you 🩷

Grateful for my dearest Rhy’s calm and quiet confidence that I will be okay 🩷 You will always be a reason and inspiration for me to survive, do better, be healthier, and be happy.

And, of course, thankful to my supportive husband for taking care of me every step of the way, specially during the post-surgery care. Loving me through thick and thin ❤️ I’m here for you, too ❤️

The man who makes me laugh with his silliest jokes; lets me cry when I need to; listens to my roar; sweet-dances with me in the kitchen out of the blue; travels oceans away to help me unbox my stuff and just to assemble a center table or hang a painting on the wall…

I love this photo of ours because here you were giving me this look that says, “I got you” that usually follows with a wink 😉 You’ve given me this look countless times and it never failed to calm me down. That look that says “I got you” is everything to me.

I’m a person who has endless worries (side-effect of being a mom), and you are the tranquility to my storm; the anchor of our family; the serenity in my heart. You are my person. You are the person I will still hold hands with years from now, when our hair turns grey (than it already is 😅)and we are living off of life savings and pension funds, walking the streets peacefully and oh so slowly (because you know, backpain 😂) of whichever country we choose to be at the moment, depends on the season, depends on my mood. You spoil me too much 🤭

With you I am home. With you I have everything I need. With you I can laugh everyday. How did I become so lucky, love? 🩷

Revisiting an old passion — the joy of baking! 🍰💓 and this time my son joined me for a lovely day of baking lessons.

Did you know that I used to own a bakeshop? It started as a hobby that grew into a business. After some time, I had to close it down because I was getting a lot of orders, but I noticed that my then 5 yr. old son was always waiting for me to become unbusy. It was a happy decision to close the bakeshop at that time. I was more at peace when I was able to focus more on taking care of my then little child 🩷

Fast forward to many years, here I am practicing my baking skills again and this time with my son who is now a teen!

I realized I’m ready to bake again and he realized this is not the area in culinary that he wants to focus on right now 😂 He’s more of an international cuisine, pasta, Japanese dishes and steak kindda guy.

Happy to be whisking again! 🍰🧁🍪

My momma heart is happy 🩷 When my son turned into a teen, it’s like I have to know him all over again.

A lot of times he wants to practice his individuality and autonomy as any teen does. But sometimes there’s this magical moment that I have him back into my sweet boy who tells me lots of stories about school, his friends, his dreams, and his plans.

Whichever the mood is at the moment, I hope to have the wisdom and the right energy to be the mother he needs me to be.

It takes true love to be a good enough mom, and I work on being one everyday.

I know two things:
1. I’m a work in progress.
2. I have true love in my heart for this boy I am responsible for.
