[https://www.facebook.com/liveEBC] Equatoria will not be the same again after Mugali
Is Mugali a turning point in Equatoria, is the top and unprecedented question most Equatorians now ask themselves as thousands of Madi's natives and residents flocked to a public rally in Nimule town, on 17th May 2022. This rally has come in the wake of Mugali's infamous and largest Dinka Bor cattle Camp busting by armed Equatoria Peoples' defense Army (EPA) forces. The action, which is unprecedented and long overdue, has forced the hand of the Chairman of Bor Community Dr Angok Kuol and his Jieng militia, to come to terms with what was until a few weeks ago unthinkable to countenance, or imagine would be pronounced and uttered in a public rally right in Nimule. The words "we are taking our cattle and Dinka militia back home" were uttered by Bor Community Chairman whose expected call was long overdue just a few weeks earlier when Abara and Agoro in Magwi county were razed to the ground by the Dinka militia he is presiding over and represented their voices in the rally at Nimule and in other numerous press releases which he authored.
After Mugali, an unprecedented company of all-Jieng entourage comprising the Jieng Chief of Defense Stuff Santino Deng, the Jieng Director of Internal Security Bureau of the infamous National Security Service (NSS) Akol Kur, and the Jieng Inspector General of Police General Majak Akech Malok, who all descended on Nimule together with Louis Lobong the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State. Their mission as ordained by Jieng President Salva Kiir, was to contain the rising tension in Nimule in which two policemen were gunned down by members of Dinka Bor militia to revenge busting of their infamous cattle camp at Mugali.
The all-Jieng led high level national security committee that made appearance in Nimule, SSPDF, NSS, IGP and Chairman of Dinka Bor Community has tribalism and nepotism of President Salva Kiir leadership all written over it, which reminds thousands of Equatorians who assembled for the rally who they were going to listen to, Dinka militia leaders dressed up as statesmen. They came because Equatoria People's Army defense forces busted Dinka cattle Camp at Mugali. None of them made appearance in Agoro, nor in Abara when over 4,500 innocent Acholi natives were forced to flee at gunpoint and uprooted from their homes by the very Dinka Bor militia who are now looking to find a safe exit from Mugali, Melijo and Jelle back to Bor in Jonglei state. This would not have happened without Equatoria Peoples' Army defense forces speaking the language of Dinka Bor militia in Abara and Agoro just a few weeks ago.
According to the Inspector General of Police, General Majak Akech Malok, he promised to investigate and bring Equatoria Peoples' Army and defense force to book and return the cattle seized from Mugali to their Dinka Bor militia rightful owners. However, he promised no investigation of those who razed Abara and Agoro villages to the ground, nor those who killed five (5) youth in Madi, nor the killers of three abducted Madi youth, and the rapists of the 15 year old girl, including all those cited by the Madi and community elders in numerous press statements about the atrocities committed against them by the invading and heavily armed Dinka Bor cattle security militia forces.
In hindsight, where was this President and his high level national security to contain tension when villages in Magwi county were being torched by Dinka Bor militia. Is it only when a Jieng militia cattle Camp is busted, that Presidential committees are hastily formed and dispatched at speed to contain tension? There was no Presidential high level security committee to be seen anywhere when the Acholi and Madi people where bleeding and burning in Magwi. And we only now see it making appearance when the Jieng cattle Camps in Mugali, Melijo and Jelli have started to be busted by Equatoria People's Army defense forces in Eastern Equatoria and it is the sign of things to come, the only language the Dinka militia understand and seemed to have made some effect to prompt and trigger the idea in Angok Kuol's mind of taking their militia back home to Bor in Jonglei to avoid further blames.
The last time Dinka Bor militia moved out of Magwi with some of their cattle towards Juba, they left a trail of death and destruction in their wake, ra**ng women, murdering innocent youth on their way without the Jieng President and his high level national security committee moving an inch to a public rally in either Nesitu or Aru Junction. These theatrics and antics of the Jieng President in Juba will not cut it. Equatoria will not be the same again after Mugali, Lo'bonok, Nesitu and Aru Junction trail of death and destruction that is hanging over our heads without end in sight soon.
After Mugali, Equatoria People's Army and defense forces will be here to stay, their mission is to bust all the remaining Jieng cattle Camps and Dinka militia operation centres of chains of commands for Equatoria's occupation. As things stand, the SPLM inspired constitution is not Equatoria Peoples' constitution, one that is made by them and for the people. Equatoria will not be the same after Mugali.
The Jieng leaders from Bor Community led by Dr. Angok Gordon Kuol, including those members of the high level security committee from SSPDF, NSS, and General Majak Akech Malok can go to hell or find a tree to hang themselves on.
"If the presence of this cattle in this area is the reason why South Sudan will not unite, then from now on, we are taking them back home and we will live to see what else will people talk about", Dr. Angok stated.
And so be it, the sooner the safer with double the number of trucks loaded with cattle, before Equatoria Peoples' Army and defense forces pick the next target cattle Camp. They haven't all gone away. It is a wonder that there were no appeals before now to the Government and UN agencies to provide Dinka Bor with vehicles to transport the cows and their heavily armed security forces escorts to Eastern Equatoria State!
It must however be stressed that the herds of cattle now relocated to inside Nimule from Aswa, Mugali, Melijo and Jelle have overstayed the two weeks deadline the people of Equatoria gave to Dinka Bor to leave, and they are now at risk for action by Equatoria Peoples' Army and defense forces. Our Acholi and Madi people are still without compensation and reparation for their losses of property, lim and lives at the hands of the seemingly retreating Dinka Bor militia and cattle security forces.
