European Exploration and Colonization (16th–17th Century)
In 1534, French explorer Jacques Cartier arrived and claimed the land for France. Samuel de Champlain founded Quebec in 1608, solidifying French influence. By the late 1600s, the British were also establishing colonies, notably around Hudson Bay and Nova Scotia.

The Seven Years' War and British Rule (1756–1763)

The Seven Years' War ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763, where France ceded most of its North American territories to Britain. Canada became a British colony, which led to significant changes, including the influx of British settlers.

The Birth of Canada: Confederation (1867)

Expanding Westward (Late 19th Century)

Victor Osimhen's much-anticipated transfer to Chelsea did not materialize despite being in the works for most of the summer transfer window. The deal collapsed for several reasons, including Napoli's high valuation of the Nigerian striker and issues with salary demands.

Napoli set an astronomical price of around €130 million for Osimhen, which deterred many suitors. Chelsea was in the race until the last minute but couldn't meet both the wage expectations and Napoli's financial demands. Osimhen currently earns a substantial salary of around €11 million annually at Napoli, and Chelsea was unwilling to break their wage structure for the striker, offering a lower sum on ultra-long contracts. The deadlock over personal terms contributed significantly to the breakdown of the negotiations.

In the meantime, Al Ahli from Saudi Arabia also showed strong interest but ended up signing Ivan Toney instead, using their final foreign player slot, leaving Osimhen in limbo.

As a result, Osimhen remains with Napoli but faces uncertainty, with the club even considering excluding him from first-team action for the season due to their financial issues and inability to offload him. This leaves his future still hanging in the balance, as other transfer windows such as the Saudi Pro League are still open.
