Our Story

Canada is home to 3 million South Asians and we recognized the need for a newspaper that could provide readership for people from various regions of South Asia, that would remove the difficulties of a language barrier.

Asian Tribune is a multilingual (60% English, 10% Hindi, 30% Punjabi) biweekly newspaper published in Edmonton, Alberta. With an engaged, growing and diverse readership, our newspaper excels at connecting advertisers with a hard copy that is read by 100,000 South Asians who call Edmonton their home. The E-paper on our site, “asiantribune.ca”, is available to South Asians settled from Coast to Coast and around the Globe.

The paper was launched in August, 2010 with several specific objectives. It was important to minimize the cultural and heritage gap among South Asians, while serving their perspective and enhancing South Asians' image generally. Equally important has been our effort to celebrate successful South Asians and recognize their individual and collective talents.

We are pleased to advise that Edmonton Economic Development Corporation has published 'Asian Tribune' as an Innovator of Edmonton in their Story Room Project.
