I spent sooo much of my adolescent years caring what others thought of me. Trying to fit in and not be the weird girl. I had no identity unique myself. I was always trying to be like the other, more popular girls.

And you know what, it made me fu***ng miserable.

Even into my 20’s and early 30’s while dating. I’d try to be what I thought they wanted me to be. But all it did was make me miserable and more insecure.

Comparison is the thief of joy.
Comparing myself to their exes, trying to be something I wasn’t. What the f**k was I thinking. I was SO lost.

In January 2020 I finally started to do some inner work. It all started with a book suggestion form a dear friend. The book was “Aim True” by Kathryn Budig.

This book has EVERYTHING! From journaling and self love practises, to creating a personalized yoga flow. It even has a whack load of healthy recipes and homemade non-tox beauty recipes.

I’m thankful I felt called to share about this book because I wanna go through all of it again!

Anyways, this book was the catalyst to getting me started on my healing journey.

And its teachings are how I manifested my healthy relationship. But that’s a story for another time 😉

Never. Stop. Dating. Your. Partner. EVER!

JR and I have been together almost 3 years now, and we have never left the honeymoon phase.

I think the secret is that we try to have a date night every couple weeks, every week in the summer when the weather is nice!

And date night doesn’t need to be some extravagant, expensive thing either. It can be simple yet effective. The goal is quality time.

Last month we packed a small picnic and went downtown to an outdoor concert series, we laid out our blanket outside the event and got to enjoy a free concert!

Sometimes we just drive to chase the sunset together and that counts as date night.

Home date nights count too! Make a charcuterie board, have a glass of wine and put on a retro film you both love and haven’t seen in ages!

Remember to disconnect from your phone during this time also.

JR and I will put our phones on airplane mode so we can still use cameras without distractions.

Fear holds me back from a lot, posting content, writing captions, all of it.

“Who tf am I to be giving advice” is how I feel…comes from a deep place of trauma and feelings of unworthiness.

My next few months will be about overcoming this fear and this feeling I have.

Time to have Faith that it will all work out.

These are a few of my favourite things!

Plants! plants are the new pets and pets are the new kids. I love tending to my plants and seeing how well they take to my environment. So far I've really only killed two or three out of like 15 or so 😅

My Laptop background is my Vision board, making sure that which I desire most is always in my face.

Finally, my journal. Each morning I write down 3-5 things that I am grateful for and why, "why" is most important. After that, I write down 3-5 affirmations.

Since starting this practice, I have found an upswing to my business as well as my mindset. I highly recommend trying this with your morning routine!
