Well, it's all come down to this. One day, one show, one community/campus station, and one of my last shows.
The CJSW funding drive is happening right now on the airwaves. It's the only time of year we ask for money, and the money we receive is critical to the operations of the station. It literally is the lifeblood that keeps us alive every year.
There's never been a better time to join the family. Throughout the years I've been lucky enough to be a part of the CJSW and contribute in one of the biggest ways possible: by being a volunteer and programmer. Our station is almost all volunteer run, except for the wonderful staff who also help keep the lights on for us.
We are truly lucky to have a station like this in Calgary, and as a volunteer and programmer, I can also say we are truly lucky to have wonderful listeners and fans throughout the city who support us. Now's that time again to come out and get your CJSW t-shirts and mugs and to show that support. This year could be a tough one, with the pandemic, we're hoping for your pledge, whether it's a regular donor or a new pledge, everything is going to count this year.
I take a lot of pride in being able to say Calgary's arts and culture scene is one of the best in Canada, and that has been a lot in part because of the people that live here, who are so supportive and so inclusive. Many amazing seeds have grown here since I started at the station way back in 2004. CJSW has been right there in the midst of all of that, and going forward, CJSW will hopefully always be there.
