Hello all, Halen again. I have some exciting news, they aren't from brockville, but I did end up finding an individual to donate to through gofundme. The recipient of the funds we made, which came up to $133, is a trans man. He is located in Ontario, Canada and is disabled as well as an immigrant. Technically a name change is $137 but we made $133 and that will still cover most of it, secluding criminal background check. The gofundme was created nearly a year ago, yet it seemed active still, even though no one had donated at all. So I'm hoping our recipient is experiencing trans joy at its peak right now.

If anyone saw our last post, unfortunately we couldn't help the recipient. They didn't qualify for our regulations. If you are thinking about applying to the list heres what we ask -

1. If you are to receive the funds, before we can distribute them we require a police check to be done.
2. If you are under 16 we require parental consent, if you are 16 but not yet 18 we require you to be able to use the funding now.

If you fit the above regulations and wish to apply, heres the link to the google form:

This form is specifically for transgender and non-binary folk in Brockville and area who are struggling with coming up with the funds to legally change their name.

1. What's your proudest moment in being a supporter of the community, a way you've helped, something you said to someone that stuck etc.
2. What's one way you think others could be more supportive?

I know you may have this question, so I'd like to answer it. Why are legal name changes so important?

They are so important because they can help prevent some dysphoria people have from seeing their deadname(a name that no longer fits, has been laid to rest). And Stopping some of that dysphoria can stop a trans person from wanting to harm themselves and having unpleasant thoughts. Name changes save lives, that's why they're so important.
