MOMS IN BUSINESS
On the 24th of August 2019 the first ever Moms In Business Expo will take place at GreenBerry Nursery, Coffee Shop and Restaurant in Partial, Gaborone. This year the exposition will highlight different business ideas for mothers and disseminate relevant information on developing business ideas, available sources of funding, policies as well as strategies in place right now that can help transition and expand small business enterprises.
Moms in Business Expo is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project by The Baby Shower Shop in partnership with Young Mothers & Pregnancy Support Network Botswana. The exposition aims to develop entrepreneurship and facilitate positive transformation of both the work and business lives of mothers. "Mothers do not have to choose between parenting and working, it is our goal to challenge this status quo and inspire progressive policies that support both roles. Our vision is to have Mothers in business making money, consistently and independently. " Elizabeth Phiri, MIB Expo Co-Founder.
The day will start at 10 am in the morning and will host stalls ranging from; agricultural sector, corporate & financial institutions, food processing, arts & crafts, locally manufactured products and services. Entrace is free and stalls are sold at 250.00 BWP.
The exposition will be graced by media houses and different experts and panelists, unpacking discussions on a wide variety of topics such as; transitioning Passion to Profit, creating digital campaigns for businesses, developing workplace wellness, the role of commercial banks in small scale entrepreneurial development and circle sharing on success stories and lessons from Mothers in business.
