Spreading Christmas Cheer

Peermont Botswana this morning reaffirmed its commitment to community upliftment by donating P100,000 to various
charitable organizations and individuals, demonstrating the power of partnerships in driving meaningful change.
One of the recipients, Goaba Kgasa, was awarded P15,000 worth of products to launch her candle-making business, Zoe's Natural Body Shop. Inspired by her public plea for assistance, Peermont stepped in to provide
the essential stock for producing soaps and candles, empowering her entrepreneurial journey. In partnership with Naga Earth, a leader in natural beauty products, Goaba will receive not only materials and equipment but also
mentorship to support her growth. Her story is one of resilience and ambition, and we are proud to be part of her journey to success.
Additionally, P30,000 was donated to the Botswana Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Centre.
As a continuation of our commitment following the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, this contribution will help
the centre in its mission to provide a safe haven for women and children affected by gender-based violence. With
GBV cases alarmingly prevalent, we aim to ensure the centre remains a beacon of hope for those in need.
Our third donation, P30,000, was made to the Botswana Society for the Deaf (BSD). Established in 1979, BSD
is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with hearing impairments, it operates Ramotswa
Centre for Deaf Education (RCDE); and Francistown Centre for Deaf Education (FCDE). The funds will help
facilitate the society’s operational needs, enabling it to continue fulfilling its vital mandate.
The last recipient of P25 000, was donated to Dyslexia and Social Support Services Botswana. A non-profit
Organisation that deals with people wo are having learning difficulties. This donation will go towards their office
rental to afford them a suitable location to operate and assist those who need their help.
At Peermont, we believe in partnerships that create sustainable impact, and we look forward to forging more
collaborations to build stronger, more inclusive communities.

In 1947 a young copywriter by the name of Frances Gerety coined the tagline “A Diamond is Forever”, and De Beers created what today we call the ‘Diamond Dream’; positioning natural diamonds as rare, the ultimate symbol of love and commitment; expensive yet elegant, a symbol of success and we...

Now that Pitseng Gaoberekwe is finally back at his ancestral home, the Bushmen of CKGR are filled with renewed hope that the new administration will at last set them free to return to their bush, practice their traditional lifestyle and preserve their cultural heritage. But how will the government juggle the wildlife conservation versus community livelihoods dilemma inside the game reserve? THALEFANG CHARLES writes
