My genuine passion for art led me to Azha K**a: who showed me a clear path of art and inspiration. Under his guidance, I realized art feels like 'home'. And I am always exploring and learning to furnish my space.
Hi, I am Ugyen Sangay Dema, 25 and I’m the illustrator of the Children’s Book, Dawa the Little Astronaut-2. Briefly, I did my undergraduate in Fine Arts at MS University, India. I’m currently working at Vast Bhutan as a volunteer artist. I have been exploring various art mediums and I am mostly into digital art. Increasingly immersed in the world of digital art, I realized how it influences my persona and the environment I live in. It also inspires me to use my skills as a visual artist to deliver creative solutions for the things around me. Being an illustration enthusiast, I’m looking forward to learning and diving deep.
I have spent a good amount of time with The Dawa the Little Astronaut and her amazing Journey. Her narration took me to explore lots of amazing things that are in and beyond the Universe. Curious Little Dawa taught me finer details and beauty of the universe we live in and made me think what possibly can be beyond the sky. “Her story inspired me to look up into the night sky with a sense of wonder I never felt before as an artist.”
I have also come to know about different telescopes which can take us billions of years back into the past and to thousands of different galaxies. I won’t spoil you much, but rather I insist you to definitely read Dawa the little Astronaut-2 to experience her beautiful story and my illustrations. I hope you all enjoy as I did while working on the visual.
Lastly, I would like to acknowledge one of my mentors Aue Karma Wangchuk Sonam for connecting me with this amazing project and Aue Nidup Gyeltshen and Tsree Dor Jee from OxMedia for all their guidance.
Happy Reading!
